NASHES TO THE NATIONS

SEPTEMBER /OCTOBER 2012 UPDATE LETTER

Getting Settled...

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. 1 chronicles 16:24

Since moving down to Texas about a month and a half ago, we have been adjusting to our new life here. New friends, new weather patterns, new apt., new grocery stores and gas stations, new church, new schedules, new license plates, new foods, new pastimes, etc. South Texas is truly a different culture! Our family has been undergoing some of the joys and stresses of what it will be to some day move to a completely foreign culture. It is a joy to be pushed and stretched in new ways that cause us to rely on God alone. We have been praying about nding a new church to serve in during our time here. Please pray with us that God would clarify and conrm a new church home for us.

Noahs little man passport just came in the mail! We think he looks pretty suspicious...

Mexico
The other integral part of the CPCP (Center for Pioneer Church Planting) is the monthly trips into Tamaulipas, Mexico (just across the border) to gain cross-cultural experience and work among several small villages. We have been assigned with several other interns (5 others in total) to the small (and I mean really small) farming village, Emiliano Zapata.

Local Ministry

We were excited to nd out that one of the central community hubs of Los Fresnos was only a block from our apartment! This park is a popular local hangout, attracting over 50 people every evening. We (along some of the other missionary interns) have felt the Lord tugging us to permeate this park with gospel witness, and have been gathering a group of people every Sunday night to evangelize and get to know people in our community in the hopes of being a catalyst of spiritual revival in Los Fresnos.

(continued from page 1)

The Lord has granted a good relationship with several of the families in this village through staff and interns in past years, so we have homes to stay in when we go (which we have been praying for so that we can have increased access to the men in the village and interact with families where they do life.) We have been dusting off our Spanish and are seeking to learn as much as possible so that we can effectively communicate the multifaceted beauty of the gospel as accurately as possible to these people.

A large part of my experience here at the To Every Tribe has been to be in classes every weekday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. >Thus far we have been covering topics such as:
Culture

The Lord would be gloried through our work in Emiliano Zapata. Pray that the Lord would ignite a passion for His glory in the professing believers in EZ and call others to Himself.

Biblical Narrative:

Some of our goals for EZ:

is the gospel?

1. To learn as much of
their language (Spanish), their culture, their history, and their people as possible. To make friends with as many villagers as possible. To strengthen our friendships with the confessing believers and build them up through conversation, prayer, and Bible study (especially the men as leaders of the home).
