*These posts were published vide advertisements No. 5 and 6/2010 dated 16/5/2010. That advertisement for said posts is cancelled as per decision of University Authorities. Application fee will waived off to candidates who have previously applied for said posts subject to submission of necessary documents regarding earlier application. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Employed candidates must submit their applications through proper channel. 2. Candidates, who wish to appear for more than one post, should submit separate application for each post. 3. A relaxation of 5% marks will be provided from 55% to 50% of marks at the Master's Level for SC/ST category, if candidates with 55% marks are not available. 4. Reservation of woman / persons with disabilities will be decided by the University authorities as per G.R. No. MISC /2001/(148)/Vishi-4,dtd.19/12/2001 and No.MISC /1003/ (03/2004)/EST-2, dtd. 26/5/2004 respectively. 5. Candidates belonging to reserved category outside the State of Maharashtra will be treated as OPEN as per G.R. No.CBC-1084/54577/(1813)/BCW-5, dtd.1/11/1985 & Govt. Circular No.CBC- 1688/(2829)/MAVAK-5, dtd.29/7/1988. 6. Reserved candidates shall produce the Caste Validity Certificate as per the directives issued by the state Government vide Circular No. BCC-2011/ iz--1064@2011@16&c dated 12/12/2011. 7. The candidate must submit declaration in prescribed Form - A, along with the application form as per rule 4 of having small family as per the directives issued by Government of Maharashtra. Form - A is available with the application form. 8. University reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all posts advertised. 9. The prescribed application forms are available on the university website www.unishivaji.ac.in under the tab '' Recruitment at University '' which have to fill online and print-out on A4 size papers, in 12 copies with necessary attested documents and Demand Draft drawn in the name of the Finance and Accounts Officer, Shivaji University, Kolhapur payable at Kolhapur OR Cash Receipt of University of Rs. 300/for open post and Rs. 150/- for reserved post should accompany the application form. Form other than online form and forms without Demand Draft/ Cash Receipt will not be considered for further process of recruitment. 10. Final printout of online application form alongwith the attested copies of relevant documents enclosed to each copy of the application should be sent to the Registrar, Shivaji University, Vidyanagar, Kolhapur - 416 004 so as to reach on or before 24/09/2012. Envelop containing duly filled application form should be superscript with Name of the Post applied: -----------. 11. Applications received after the last date will not be considered. The University will not be responsible for postal delay, if any. 12. 14. In case of reservation for the SC/ST post advertised for sixth time or more will be filled in by interchanging categories Viz. SC <-> ST as per G.R. No.BCC-1094/CR-57/94/16-B dated 5/12/1994 15. QUALIFICATIONSPROFESSOR A. (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers. (ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level. (iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process. (iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API), Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) set out in UGC Regulation in Appendix III. OR B. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (For Post No. 8/12-17 to 8/12-29)


i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines. ii. A Masters Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). iii. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers. iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students. v. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in UGC Regulation in Appendix III.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN ADULT AND CONTINUATION EDUCATION AND EXTENSION WORK DEPARTMENT (For Post No. 8/12-31)

i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the subject of the Social Sciences/ Social Work/
Humanities/ Education/ Science/ Home Science/ Adult/ Continuing Community/ Extension Education/ Community Development from a recognized Indian University or an Equivalent degree from a Foreign University.

ii. A Masters Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). iii. A minimum of eight years of experience of field work/ teaching and/or research in a subject having bearing on Adult/ Continuing Extension/ Community/ Non formal Education or Community Development excluding the period of Ph. D research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/ or research/ policy papers. iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students. v. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in UGC Regulation in Appendix III.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
i. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. ii. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause 4.4.1, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions. iv. NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

UNIVERSITY LIBRARIAN
i. A Masters Degree in Library Science /Information Science/documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven points scale and consistently good academic record set out in these Regulations. ii. At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a university library or eighteen years experience as a College Librarian. iii. Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work. iv. Desirable: A. M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in library science/information science / documentation /achieves and manuscript-keeping.

DEPUTY LIBRARIAN (For Post No. 8/12-30)


i. A Masters Degree in library science/information science/documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record. ii. Five years experience as an Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian. iii. Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work and professional commitment, computerization of library. iv Desirable: A. M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in library science/Information science / Documentation / Archives and manuscript-keeping/computerization of library.

UNIVERSITY ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN


i. A Masters Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.

ii. Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC. iii. However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph. D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of University Assistant Director of Physical Education/ College Director of Physical Education & Sports.

Appointment under Special Recruitment drive for Physically Disabled persons


NOTES 1. ONE POST OF PROFESSOR under Special Recruitment Drive for Physically Disabled Persons will be filled in as per G.R.No. Apang/1006/(93/06) Astha-2 dated 26/5/2006 and section 76 of Maharashtra Universities Act 1994. It should be noted that only one post of Professor from the disabled category will be filled in out of the total posts of Professors mentioned in Advt. No. 8 & 9/2012 Physically disabled persons need not pay the application form fee. The application form for disabled persons is also available in the University office at Room No. 234 during office hours 11.00 am to 5.30 pm on working days. The candidates (Physically disabled) applying for the post should submit Medical certificate from competent authority along with application form.
