Broadview
The Community of Broadview (Latitude: 39-29'35'' N, Longitude: 076-18'20'' W) is located off Laurel Bush Road, just south of the intersection of St. Marys Church Road and Laurel Bush Road. Regal Drive is the only thoroughfare to enter and exit the community. There are currently 237 single family homes in Broadview that was developed in 3 phases In 1983, Ryland Homes began developing a large tract of land, which very likely was a parcel from the original Constant Friendship owned by Colonel Thomas White (17041779), the largest colonial landowner in Harford County. At the time, Broadview consisted of a handful of homes which later came to be known as Section 1. Ryland first developed property along Amy and Parliament Drives forming Section 2. Sections 1 and 2 later formed a social community association that planned childrens holiday parties and yard sales with a $5 per year dues. Some years later, Ryland Homes developed Section 3. They extended Regal and Parliament Drives and added a few additional roads to develop and complete the new section. Section 3 has developed the Broadview III Homeowners' Association which is a separate entity from the Broadview Community Association - a voluntary social group for the entire Broadview community (sections I, II and III). The entire Broadview Community mourned the death of Barry Winston Wood; a Senior Flight Officer for the Baltimore City Police Department. He was killed November 4, 1998 when the helicopter he was piloting crashed during the chase of a stolen vehicle. His widow, Martha, donated the community sign at the entrance in his memory. Martha still resides in Broadview. Children from Broadview, at one time, attended Ring Factory Elementary School, then Emmorton Elementary School after its construction. They moved on to Bel Air Middle School then Bel Air High School. With redistricting, currently Broadviews children attend Homestead Wakefield Elementary School and then Patterson Mill Middle/High School. Broadview is a family oriented community.

Thirteen Helpful Tips to Make Sure Your Kids Have a Healthy and Happy Halloween.
Getting all dressed in your costume to go trick-or-treating? Pure spooky joy. To keep it fun, everyone needs to stay safe.
1. Have adult supervision. Accompany your kids if you dont think theyre old enough to trick-or-treat on their own. 2. There is safety in numbers. If theyre old enough to trick-or-treat without an adult, tell your kids to stay in a group. 3. Map out your plan. Designate a route before your kids begin trick-or-treating, and make sure they stick to it. 4. Take the long way 'round. Have your kids trick-or-treat in areas where there are a lot of people around. They should also avoid taking short-cuts through alleys and parking lots. 5. Try tick-or-treat-friendly homes. Ensure your kids only visit houses with lights on. And, you might also suggest the houses they visit have some sort of Halloween decoration on the porch. 6. Stay outside. Make sure your kids dont go inside someones house. They can get their candy from the porch. 7. Remain visible. Dress your kids in a bright costume so others can see them. If their costume is dark, have your kids wear reflective strips or carry a glow stick or flashlight. 8. Remember, shorter = safer. Goes without saying but just in case you forget, ensure your kids costumes arent so long that they can trip over them. 9. Don't cover the face. Instead of masks, have your kids wear make-up so they can see better. 10. Quality-check treats. Check your kids candy before they eat it. Throw out any candy that is not in its original wrapper or looks like it has been tampered with. 11. Say "no" to strangers. Tell your kids to never accept a ride or go anywhere with a stranger. 12. Obey the law. Encourage your kids to follow all the regular rules for walking around. That includes looking both ways before crossing, obeying all traffic laws and using cross walks and crossing lights where available. 13. Have a great time! Finally, make sure your kids have tons of fun and get lots and lots of candy.
