GRADUATION 2012

God Answering Prayer

May 4, 2012 ...Update from Kathleen It has been a long month since we emailed most of you regarding the challenges we were facing. Today we are rejoicing in all that the Lord has done, and want to share that with you! First of all, thank you so much for your prayers. Things seemed to be continually going from bad to worse, even earlier this week, and we definitely needed and sensed the Lord's strengthening through it all. As most of you know, we had purchased tickets for me to fly to Canada/US for our sons' graduations. However, on the day I was to leave, the Bolivian airline cancelled its flight just hours before the departure, which also affected all my other flights. Out of the 11 flights I had, six of them were either cancelled, delayed, or changed, Jonathan graduated from Peace River Bible st yet I was able to make it in time for both graduations despite it all ... Institute on April 21 with an Associate of definitely the Lord's work. Thank you so much for your faithful Christian Studies Diploma prayers during that time. It's hard to describe what a blessing it was for me to be at Josh's and Jonathan's graduations ... so many times, my eyes were full of tears and I just couldn't quit smiling for the joy of being there! I was also blessed to meet so many teachers who had taken a personal interest in our boys, parents of their friends who had opened their homes to them, and also their college friends ... what a huge blessing to see how the Lord used so many of His children to take care of their needs while we were on another continent. God is so faithful, and so are all those who ministered in so many ways to our boys ... we are so thankful for each and every one. Josh Josh graduated from Bethel College is now searching for a teaching job in Indiana ... th on April 29 with a Bachelor of another prayer request. And Jonathan returned Education Degree with me to Bolivia, and we're enjoying having him here with us now for this month until Jesse's graduation! (continued next page)

"They who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up on wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Jesse will receive his High School Diploma from Santa Cruz Christian Learning Center th on May 25

Yes, Jesse is also graduating!! It has been a long wait, but as of this week, he now knows where he'll be studying next year! Last September, he applied to two Canadian universities (McGill and UBC), both of which have excellent History programs, which has been Jesse's passion since elementary school. He received notice early in April that McGill University considered him ineligible for admission due to the ACSI accreditation of his high school here. He was able to appeal, but heard nothing all month. Then, the day I returned to Bolivia (this past Wednesday), Jesse called me from school with more bad news .... UBC had also rejected his application due to the accreditation issue. We contacted ACSI again, as they had written such an excellent letter to McGill fully explaining their accreditation. But we wondered, did the Lord have a plan other than college for Jesse? Then, the following day, Jesse literally ran all the way home from school with good news! ... he had just received an email from McGill saying they have accepted his appeal!! Considering that they only accept 1% of all appeals, we definitely consider this the work of the Lord and an answer to all our prayers! This means not only that Jesse will be able to study at McGill, but also that he can stay with my brother Eric and his family there in Montreal ... he can't wait to move in with his cousins there!! We know many of you were praying for Jesse through all the difficulties of this past month, and we are grateful beyond words.

More Prayer & Praise Items

* Please pray for Julio His heart has been giving him problems this past month, and partly because of this, he has missed several weeks of work with Bill. Please pray for healing for him, and also that he will be well enough to return to work for the rest of this month. Bill is realizing he won't now be able to complete the New Testament draft with him, but at least hopes to finish the radio recordings and Romans workbook. * Praise the Lord for our upcoming time in North America. We are scheduled to return to Canada on June 4th after Jesse's graduation, and are very much looking forward to seeing many of you! We will be in western Canada and the western States until sometime in the Fall, so please contact us if we can get together with you or speak at your church! * Please pray for our boys during this time of transition. Josh is currently applying for a teaching job, while Jonathan is working this summer in a glazier shop, and praying about different possibilities for the Fall. As for Jesse, he is planning to work at Camp Sagitawa this summer, and will be traveling to Montreal to begin school at McGill in late August. * And as always, please pray for the Simba people. For those who are believers, that they would be maturing, and for those yet to hear, that there will be a continued openness and receptivity to the Gospel.

With thankfulness for all of you who so faithfully pray for and support this work with the Simba people,
