hi vijay sb., kaafi lambi request haiN par aaj mere paas waqt hi waqt haiN,isliye itmenaan se aapki translation dungi.mujhe lagta haiN aapko literal words ka maani to maalum hoga, maiN yahaaN par aapko rough meaing de rahi huiN.

ye dil ye paagal dil meraa kyo.n bujha gayaa aavaaragii is dasht me.n ik shahar thaa vo kyaa huaa aavaaragii ... the poet is asking aawaargi(lonely wanderings),why is the heart so subdued, where is its glitter, its shine?the meaning of saying ,in the heart there was a city,is simply that it was full of people,it loved but now has become desolate.ie.the heart is totally forlorn and like a desert,dead..

kal shab mujhe be-shakl sii aavaaz ne chau.Nkaa diyaa mai.n ne kahaa tuu kaun hai us ne kahaa aavaaragii .... here the beauty of the sher,i guess lies in the thought of "beshakl ki awaaz".ie the wanderings, loneliness does not have a face.if u take the meaning of loneliness, rather than only wandering for awaargi,it makes more sense and adds to the beauty of the sher. ik tuu ki sadiyo.n se mere ham_raah bhiii ham_raaz bhii ik mai.n ki tere naam se naa_aashnaa aavaaragii ... here the poet is saying that, the loneliness/the wanderings have been with him all his life, they have been his confident, his companion(ie.he he discussed his thoughts with himself),but he did not know of it.he was a stranger to awaaargi.ie.he was so much into himself that he did not realise that he had become lonely. ye dard kii tanhaa_iyaa.N ye dasht kaa viiraa.N safar ham log to uktaa gaye apanii sunaa aavaaragii ...

this one is simple, here he describes his condition,as that of lonely pain and the travelling in the desert..the epitome of loneliness and madness.he then asks wandering itself whether it has gotten tired(of it all),as the poet himself has been. ik ajanabii jho.nke ne jab puuchhaa mere Gam kaa sabab saharaa kii bhiiigii ret par mai.n ne likhaa aavaaragii ....there is suppose to be some symbolic meaning behind this, which i can't find.the only thing diffrent here,is the sehra ki bhigi ret.the desert is dry and hence it is diffrent to quote it as bhigi ret.one meaning could be that the tears of the poet has made it wet.another ,perhaps deeper meaning could be that the sehraa ki bhigi ret means=not reality,ie.fantasy land.maybe he says that i have wandering in my own fantasy world and hence that is the reason of my sorrows.

le ab to dasht-e-shab kii saariii vusate.n sone lagii.n ab jaaganaa hogaa hame.n kab tak bataa aavaaragii ... this one here is beautiful.dasht-e shab means long ,barren nights.vusateiN is amplitude or space, large area,expansion...the poet asks the wanderings, that it has covered this huge expansion with it,now how much more? kal raat tanhaa chaa.Nd ko dekhaa thaa mai.n ne Khvaab me.n 'Mohsin' mujhe raas aayegii shaayad sadaa aavaaragii .... here the ghazal ends beautifully.the overall meaning is that the poet accepts his wanderings/his loneliness in a kind of neutral attitude.he sees lonely moon(tanha chaand) without any stars around it in his dream(a place where one can see desire) and concludes that maybe he has started liking his being alone. the overall emphasis of the ghazal is on the theme of wanderings, but mostly relates to the loneliness of the poet and has in various ways described his condition of being alone. well hope this helps, but a touch of warning, these ashaar are translated in a meaning i thought best suited, doesn't mean that is what the poet wants to say.
