DEEZER EXPANDS ACTIVITY IN CENTRAL EUROPE

VERUS VON PLOTHO ANNOUNCED AS MD OF CENTRAL EUROPE

Deezer, the worlds premier music streaming service, is pleased to announce that it will increase its business activity in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and Serbia and has named Verus von Plotho as Managing Director of Central Europe. Verus von Plotho and his team will be based in Berlin. With Verus von Plotho, Deezer has gained an expert in the international music industry. Von Plotho has held leading positions at major labels for the last 17 years and was last employed as Vice President in the area Digital Revenue Development EMEA at Warner Music International in London. Deezer appeals to me due to its high demand in innovation. Before working in London, von Plotho was employed at the same label as Head of Digital Sales GSA in Hamburg. Until 2005 he was responsible for marketing audio and video content as Senior Product Manager at Sony Music Entertainment in Berlin. Before that, von Plotho was in charge of the strategic development of Online Music Distribution and assisted the senior management with license negotiations for digital music content at BMG Entertainment in New York. From 1995 until 2000 he was employed as an A&R / Product Manager at the labels EMI Electrola, Universal Music and Edel Company. His career in the music business began in 1994 when he was hired as Manager of the World Music department of Tower Records in London. Verus von Plotho holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Rotterdam School of Management and a BSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He has been passionate about music for as long as he can remember. Born in Brazil, von Plotho lived there until he was six years old and grew up listening to Bossa Nova. When he began studying in the 1990s he discovered the dynamic music scene of London and knew that his future lay in the music industry.
