WHEN ARE THE EXAMS?

WHEN ARE RESULTS RELEASED?

ACCA results are released in February (for December exams) and August (for June exams) each year. Results from computer-based exams are available immediately after the exam has finished. High school Bachelors Degree (UK equivalent: 2 A levels & 3 GCSEs or equivalent in 5 separate subjects incl. English & Maths) Mature Study Entry Route is via Foundations in Accountancy (see FIA factsheet) Graduate entry route - relevant degree holders from ACCA accredited institutions may be exempted from up to nine exams within the Fundamentals level & register directly at the Professional level. Non-relevant degrees may also qualify for some exemptions FIA Diploma exempts students from the first 3 Knowledge papers

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is a globally recognised accountancy qualification. It is a badge of quality and professionalism, and ensures that your knowledge and skills are of the highest professional standard. The ACCA can enhance your reputation, strengthen your position in the marketplace, and deliver added value to your business.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
ACCA offers you various entry points on to the acca qualification, depending on your previous academic qualifications. Minimum entry requirements To register for the ACCA qualification, the only one that grants the ACCA membership, you should normally hold an university degree. Students that hold a relevant degree from ACCA accredited institutions may be exempt from all 9 exams of the fundamentals level and start directly at the professional level. Degrees that are not accredited by ACCA but still have some relevance may also qualify for exemptions. ACCA entry via Foundations in Accountancy For this entry route an academic qualification is not required. Students should complete the Diploma in Accounting and Business first.

EXEMPTIONS
Exemptions are available for the Fundamentals level of the ACCA qualification. We strongly advise you to visit the ACCA website and use their online exemption system to check your individual eligibility.

BSc IN APPLIED ACCOUNTING

It is possible, while preparing for your ACCA exams, to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Accounting awarded by Oxford Brookes University in the UK. You are eligible to undertake the Oxford Brookes BSc project after completion of the Fundamentals level. To obtain your BSc you need to: 1. Complete a Research and Analysis project based on a 6,500 word report on a topic suggested by Oxford Brookes University. 2. Produce a Skills and Learning Statement of 2,500 words 3. Hold a suitable English qualification or pass ACCA paper F4 before completing the F7, F8, F9 papers 4. For more information, please access the ACCA website

QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE
FUNDAMENTALS LEVEL It is divided into two key sets of modules that you must complete in order to pass the Fundamentals level and move onto the Professional level: Knowledge module - three papers that introduce you to the core areas of finance and management accounting and give you a platform to develop your skills at the next level. Skills module - six papers that test you on key technical skills that you must master to become a qualified accountant including Law, Performance Management, Taxation, Financial Reporting, Auditing and Financial Management. PROFESSIONAL LEVEL The Professional level is the final step towards the ACCA qualification and is equivalent, at an academic level, to a Masters degree, consisting of: Essentials module three compulsory papers that build upon the technical skills you have acquired at the Fundamentals level. They explore advanced professional skills, techniques and values that you will require to be an expert accountant in an advisory or consultancy role at a senior level. Options module you must complete two out of these 4 exams which focus on applying your knowledge and skills in two specific areas of your choice.

THE EXAMS
The ACCA exams are organised twice a year in June and December. In these sessions you can sit the paper-based exams for all ACCA papers. During the year you can choose to sit Computer Based Exams for the Knowledge Module (F1, F2, F3). All paper-based exams last 3 hours (except for F1-F3) and the F1-F3 exams last 2 hours. No matter the exam options chosen, you must score al least 50% in order to pass the exam. All CBEs are set and monitored by ACCA and can be sat at BPPs training centre in Bucharest. The regulations for and the contents of the assessments are strictly controlled by ACCA. You must be an ACCA registered student before booking a CBE. BPP Romania is an ACCA CBE approved centre. When attempting CBEs, you are not restricted to the paper-based June or December exam sittings but can take exams at any time of the year by arrangement with BPP. CBE offers you three main benefits: - You can be assessed by CBE at a BPP training centre whenever youre ready - choice of date according to available dates on www.bpp.ro - Your results and feedback are available to you immediately - Should you need to re-take an assessment you can re-sit at a time and place that suits you.

JUAN GAMECHO | FINANCE TRAINER Juan graduated from the Cardiff Business School before beginning a career in investment banking in the City of London. Having worked initially in structured finance and subsequently in Corporate Finance of Hill Samuel Bank and NM Rothschild, he moved to Romania in 1997 with Charterhouse Bank as country manager. In 1999 he joined the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development in Romania. Juan has been working with BPP for a number of years and specialises in management strategy.

ALED JOYCE | FINANCE TRAINER Aled qualified whilst working overseas in the late 1990s. He has fulfilled several Senior Management commercial positions in the UK, Eastern Europe and Asia Pacific. He teaches financial and management accounting, economics and Law. Following several years in the British Army he commenced his accounting career whilst with the Post Office in 1985. Aled teaches Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Economics and Law.

TOM DELAINEY | FINANCE TRAINER Tom is a results oriented senior finance professional with extensive experience, primarily in blue chip FMCG and Telco companies. His extensive experience of more than 20 years as a senior finance professional was gained in large companies including Coca Cola, Glanbia Foods and Eircom, as CFO and as a management consultant. Toms specialties are financial strategy and financial control, cost management and business efficiency, business and financial planning, business restructuring, turnaround and change management.

GEORGI KIRILOV | FINANCE TRAINER Georgi is a fellow of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA). He is a Corporate Finance (CF) qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and holds a Masters in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics (LSE). He has completed level 1 and 2 of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), the US business valuation certification institution.
