Rhonda A. Lettington, M.S., LMHC, ACADC, NCC, has spent the past 30 years working with children, individuals, and families. Mrs. Lettington is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor through the state of Iowa. She also is an Advanced Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a member of the American Counseling Association and the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). Mrs. Lettington currently practices in Northeast Iowa, where she specializes in trauma, children with attachment issues, and chemical abuse/dependency. She has received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology from Upper Iowa University, a Master of Science Degree in Community Counseling and a Master of Science Degree in Professional Development, both through Winona State University in Minnesota. To further assist her clients, she has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Healing Touch. Mrs. Lettington and her husband have been treatment level foster parents in Iowa and have adopted three RAD children. Her passion to assist and educate individuals on trauma issues has led her on a personal and professional journey of research to understand and treat families and individuals with these issues. A colleague deems Rhonda Lettington as the best RAD therapist he has ever known.

This training will: Describe the fundamentals of normal attachment (i.e. definitions of attachment, natural attachment process, and benefits of attachment) Discuss components to attachment issues (i.e. symptoms/behaviors of attachment, impairment in capacity to attach, developmental delays, poor impulse control, fights to control everything, superficially engaging and charming, poor peer relationships, poor social relationships, poor employment satisfaction, lack of appropriate social boundaries, causes of attachment issues, and attachment continuum) Explain counseling interventions (i.e. how to assist clients in developing attachments, assessment, prognoses pie, phases of treatment, attachment assessment tools, and interventions and treatment tools).
