Dedicatoria 2-Manresa/AB-Psychology MODERN ERA OF JAPAN

The modern era of Japan started when Commodore Matthew Perry forced Japan to open to the outside world through the Convention of Kanagawa on March 31, 1854. In 1868 to 1890, during the early Meijing period, there was rapid modernization and dramatic change of political, social, and economic institution. The new leaders of Japan also adapt the western ways of political, social, and economic institution. Administrative power was adapted and centralized in a bureaucracy who was ruled by the emperor. There was also equity among the people. The adaptation of the Western technology boos ted the industrial productivity of Japan. Education became compulsory to teach skills and instil values among the Japanese people. In 1890 to 1945, Japan became an imperial, adapted from western ways. Constitutional policy was now established and with an emperor as the reigning monarch. It was also the start of industrialization, urbanization and an increasing mobile society. Japan also developed a drive to gain an international status and world including imperialism in Asia thus the war with the United States. In 1945 to present, Japan became contemporary. There is now a democratic reform under Allied occupation. There is also a stable political democracy with high economy growth in the sixties and seventies. There is now also a political instability and recession in the early nineties. The Japanese culture was rich and diverse. Their arts have well-known around the world from then until now. O of the most popular art creation of the Japanese people, even outside Japan, was the manga, a comic book format. It was made into television and into film, called anime. It was also made as video game consoles that have been popular around the world until now. Japan was also well-known around for their music. Nowadays, Japan is one of the richest and most modernized countries in the world. They have a very advanced structures and inventions. They also have a great military power. And if you compare them with the other Asian countries, they would stand out. Not because theyre big, but because of their influences and contributions and their political power. Its amazing knowing that a country that as big as Japan, which is a small country by the way, possesses a powerful political power. And they are the 3 rd highest GDP in the world, which makes them the 3rd richest country in the world. Its unbelievable what a small country can do. Japanese people are very intellectual people. They can invent and build devices and robots with their bare hands. Thats because the government emphasize the importance of education to their people. They also have state of the art infrastructures and buildings, with modern and high technology gadgets and devices. Take for example the disaster happened recently that shook Japan and destroyed millions of dollars worth of infrastructures and building and how fast the Japanese people recovered from the disaster. It only took them a small period of time to fix the destroyed building and structures. People from other countries diss about how Japanese people are robots because of how controlling their government is, but look at how it turned out. They were able to control their population. They were able to live in equality and without the problems of living in poverty. They were able to boost their economy, and they were able to maintain their conservatism and they are bounded by traditions. An example of tradition is the respect for elders which is still fundamental to the Japanese society even today. It may be grandfather, grandmother, parents, and even a year of two older than them. And they have a high self-respect which makes them easily offended. Therefore, Japan is a really great country, not only for its scenic beauty but also the manner of the people, the rich culture, and the peace and harmony found in the country. Low crime rates, great economic status, a grand political power. Education have a very high standard, one of the worlds best. Japan definitely a great place to visit or live in.
