Public Storm Drain Rehabilitated Without Disturbing Neighborhood

Nu Flow has the out-of-the-box solutions to rehabilitate federal or municipal pipe systems without disruption of public or private properties. Nu Main was used for a pipe lining project of a 12"-wide storm drain line without destroying the street, sidewalks or lawns that the pipe line runs beneath. Project: Rehabilitate the failing storm drain line, using Nu Main, without causing any destruction to the street, sidewalk or private landscapes. Site: A residential cul-de-sac in the neighborhood of Talmadge, in San Diego, California. System: A 12"-wide storm drain line that is partially concrete pipe and partially plastic pipe. This pipe line runs through the residential street and sidewalk, as well as the front yards and back yards of several homes. Problem: This storm drain line runs down a hill, underneath a private walkway. When it would rain, water would flow out of the pipe line and onto the private residences properties. Inspections showed that the bottom of the pipe line was missing entirely. The city wanted the line rehabilitated but with as little disturbance to the residents as possible. Circumvention: If the city of San Diego chose to get a traditional repipe instead of using Nu Flows innovative technology, the private residences would have greatly suffered. The street, sidewalk, driveways, front yards and back yards would have been excavated. This would have created severe disruption for the residents, and would have cost the city more money and more time. Solution: Nu Flow technicians cleaned and lined the failing pipe line within two days. Nu Main was installed using a patented, Pull-in-Place process that did not cause any destruction or disruption to the residents. An epoxy liner was inserted into the pipe line using existing access points that were 110 feet apart. A bladder inside the epoxy liner was inflated. Once the epoxy cured, the bladder was removed and all that was left was a protective, epoxy liner throughout the pipe line. This liner created a protective and seamless pipe-within-a-pipe that will prevent future leaks, backups or other failures.

Nu Flow lined this public storm drain line with a Pullin-Place epoxy liner, without destroying any landscape or disrupting the private residences.
