You are the answer to every prayer I have offered. You are a song, a dream, a whisper, and I do not know how I could have lived without you as long as I have. This is a phrase that I quote from a novel of The Notebook by Nicholas sparks. By means of this phrase we can conclude that people like to be love and in love. A half of century ago, a person has to be married first then only love. Despite that, their marriage last long as we can see our grandparents love never dies until deaths do them part. This arouses me when nowadays we have marriage by love but then divorce rate are hiking up. Thus, I did a research and a lot of reading on arranged marriage. As for today, I would like to inform you what is all about arranged marriage, why people choose arranged marriage and the benefit.

An arranged marriage is the union of a man and a woman which is brought about by someone other than bride and groom. Historically, it was the primary way in which future spouse is introduced. The parties arranging a marriage may pick a suitor based upon financial security, religion, upbringing, health, and many other things. These parties may be the parent of the unwed person or matchmakers. Typically, the parent or matchmaker makes note of potential spouses for their children or client. The two families may meet and the unwed person decides whether or not to pursue getting to know each other. If so, there may be another meeting or the two families may make a bond as such engagement. An important fact to noted is that an arranged marriage is not the same as a forced marriage, nor is it an involuntary union imposed upon unwilling participants by their families as such couples must see each other before marriage. Why a person would choose to marry someone that they have not known for a long time. When they can experience the love and personalization by knowing somebody before marriage allows partner to have better respect and understanding for each others need and desires. This way they are better adjusted in the marriage when they finally take their wedding vows.

Thus, can love be arranged? There are many things that lead to an arranged marriage. Some of them are to secure the business or wealth within their circle as example the marriage of the Prince Charles of Wales and Diana Spencer. As for my religion, arranged marriage is advice able as it discourages modern western practice such as dating, living in and long courtships. Culture also play an important role an arranged marriage as such in Cambodia, Children are expected to repay their gratitude to their parents for finding them a suitable partners. Fulfilling ones marital obligation is one of way repaying that gratitude. The rituals and protocol of arranged marriage may vary from one country or culture to another and one religion to next. As for Muslim, it is the boys family responsibility to find a suitable wife for their son. Then, a third party is sent to inquire whether the family is interested in making the match as this allow the boys family to maintain their dignity if he is rejected. As I informed earlier, the candidates are pick by financial, religion, upbringing and many other things. Thus equality in education, financial or background may lead partner to less pressure of being dumb of unfit. Aside from that, there will be no comparison made as both of them are likely to be equivalent. Additionally, as both being educated, the spouses are most likely to be equally rational and sensible in raising a children or dealing with some issues. A

part from that, it also can save a lot conflict as they likely to share same opinion of marriage and family. Thus, separating or divorce due to irreconcilable different is not probable as loved marriage.

As we have seen, arranged marriage is a very special and joyous part of many peoples life and can bring together the entire families or even a nation. Plus, it has done and kept doing so in the past and into the future. Therefore, I wish to pursue an arranged marriage as to follow my religion believe. Maybe marriage can indeed come before love.
