other_school_info: Fairview Elementary is a rural oublic school located in Habersham County. We are considered a Title 1 school. Over half of our students receive free or reduced lunches. Our school has done exceedingly well on our standardized tests in the past few years. We have a staff of hard working and caring individuals who truly love their students and teach from their heart. Our county is currently in a budget crunch. Our state wants us as teachers to improve our students learning experience by implmenting the new Common Core Georgia Performance Standards. However, due to lack of funding we have not been able to purchase the books that the state has based the new frameworks on. By receiving grant money from the Laura Bush foundation we would be able to purchase the books that our teachers need to properly implement the frameworks.

abstract_10: My proposal addresses all of these goals. The books that we want to purchase with the grant money will help students become more proficient and fluent readers. Without this money our students will not be able to fall in love with these wonderful stories because they will not have access to them. budget_outline_25: I want to purchase the books that the frameworks are using. I would like to buy each teacher a set of the integrated texts and each class a set of the entended texts that the frameworks specifically use and build the lessons and skills around that the students will need to become successful thinkers and readers. 33. What gave you the idea for this proposal?: I got the idea for this proposal when I as a teacher was told to implement these frameworks but realizing the books were not available at the school for the teachers and the students. When asking administration to purchase the books I became aware of the dire situation that the school system budget was in. The funds are simply not there to be able to purchase the books needed for the students in our school. 34. How were the specifics of the proposal developed?: I developed the specifics based on the need of books for the frameworks as well as the number of students who need the books and teachers who need the materials. 35. If you do receive a grant to implement your proposal, how will you measure and evaluate its impact on the students, on the library, on the school?: The students test scores and ability to perform the task items that the frameworks implement will be the indicator of the impact the books have had on the students. 36. What is your schools Federal Employer Tax Identification Number?: 123456789
