CanSecure Internet Banking Token

Dear Customer, Before you start: 1. Please verify and update your India mobile number in the bank records by visiting your Canara Bank home branch. Ensure that the mobile number is appended by 91. 2. Please make sure that you are connected to the Internet 3. You have received the Verification Key and Activation Code on your registered mobile number as SMS Welcome to Canara Bank CanSecure for Retail and Corporate Internet Banking. It is our pleasure to now offer you the most secure Internet banking experience, powered by the next-generation REL-ID Technology. You will now be able to safely conduct all online transactions in a secure environment. In order to start using the CanSecure Token, you need to complete the following 4 simple steps: STEP 1: Verify and update your India mobile number appended with 91 in bank records by visiting your home branch STEP 2: Download CanSecure software, STEP 3: Activate CanSecure, and STEP 4: Use CanSecure for Internet Banking. Please read this User Manual carefully. All instructions for download, activation and usage are provided here. Security Notice: 1. Never respond to emails that ask for your personal details like Internet banking User ID, Password, Debit Card Number, ATM PIN, Date of birth, Mothers maiden name etc. Canara Bank will never ask for these details either on email, phone or SMS.

Step 1: Download CanSecure


1. Go to your Internet Banking Website - https://www.canarabank.in/ And click on the appropriate option Retail/Corporate 2. Enter you User Name, Password and Click on Submit in order to login to your account. You may enable and use Virtual Keyboard to enter your Credentials.

You shall see the screen as below only if you are enrolled successfully to CanSecure and have received SMS. Sample SMS would be CanSecure Activation Credentials- Verification Key XXXXXX Activation CodeXXXXXX

(XXXXXX may take any alphanumeric value). Click on Yes and you will be taken to the Download page of CanSecure. 3. Click on Download to download an installable (.msi) version of CanSecure Depending on the Browser you are using, you will be prompted to save the installable file on your machine. Save the same on your machine and install CanSecure by invoking the MSI File. If you are using Windows 2000, then please download the CanSecure available for Windows 2000. The link to the same is provided just below the Download button saying Click here.

2. Never reveal your CanSecure Activation Code to anybody, not even to Canara Bank personnel at branch or customer care call-centre. 3. Always match the Verification Key before entering the Activation Code. 4. For your own safety, always use CanSecure for Internet Banking and online transactions.

If you are not able to download and install CanSecure, please scroll down to the bottom of the same page and download an Executable version (.exe) of CanSecure in zipped format as shown in the Screenshot. You will need any compression tool such as WinZip, WinRAR, 7z to extract the executable file.

4. This will create CanSecure icon on your computers Desktop.

Step 2: Activate CanSecure


1. Double-click on the Canara Bank icon to start CanSecure session. When you invoke CanSecure for the first time, it will automatically update itself to latest version 1.1.8-6. 2. Enter your Internet Banking User ID and click on Submit. 3. Match the Verification Key displayed in the activation window with the verification key you have received from Canara Bank through SMS. 3.1 If the Verification Key on the screen matches with the one you received in SMS on your mobile number then select the option Verification Key is correct and enter the Activation Code and click on Submit 3.2 If the Verification Key does not match with the one received in SMS on your registered mobile number, select the option Verification Key does not match and click on Exit. Send an email to cansecuresupport@canarabank.com to resolve this issue.

4. Setup Security Question & Answer and CanSecure PIN: 4.1 After entering correct Activation Code, you will be prompted to set Security Question & Answer along with CanSecure PIN which should be a numeric value ranging from 4 digits to 10 digits. Set Security Question either by selecting one from drop-down list or by typing a new question followed by specifying the Answer. 4.2 Set CanSecure PIN (minimum 4 digits and maximum 10 digits) and click on Submit.

It is important for you to always remember the CanSecure PIN and Answer to the Security Question.

5. You will be taken to your Canara Bank Internet Banking login page in a Secure Desktop environment and within a Secure Browser with your User Name pre-populated in the field.

6. Login to your account by entering your Internet Banking password and continue with Internet Banking using CanSecure If you are not using internet from behind Proxy please ignore the following section. If you are accessing internet from behind Proxy, CanSecure will show up the message as follows and will prompt you to provide Proxy Details when you invoke CanSecure for the first time. Please click on Yes in order to enter Proxy Details in the screen that will appear as shown. The Host Name / IP Addr and Port Number can be viewed from following path in Internet Explorer. Open Internet Explorer and Go to Tools-> Internet Options->Connections->LAN Settings The Proxy Username and Password will be provided by your Network Administrator. Once the Valid Proxy details are entered, you will be promted for UserID and regular flow will start.

Step 3: (Regular Use) Always use CanSecure for Canara Bank Internet Banking
1. For subsequent Internet banking usage double-click on the Canara Bank icon. 2. Enter Internet Banking User ID and CanSecure Device PIN.

3. When the Secure Browser opens, enter your Internet Banking password to login into Internet banking website. After login you can use the website normally. Here the user ID is pre-populated.

Using CanSecure on a different computer


If you want to access your internet banking account from a different computer and you do not have the CanSecure executable or installer with you, then you simply go to Canara Banks website and login to your Internet Banking account by entering your user name and password. You will be prompted to download CanSecure. After you download CanSecure follow either of the Option 1 and Option 2 below.

Option 1: Using SMS One Time Password (OTP) 1. Login into Canara Bank using normal browser and download CanSecure . 2. Invoke CanSecure. It will detect that youre using a different computer. You may be asked to choose between SMS-OTP and CanSecure OTP options to activate the new computer

3. If you are prompted to select an option between SMS OTP and CanSecure OTP, select the Send me an OTP via SMS option if you are carrying your registered mobile with you. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. The SMS OTP would look like the one as shown in the figure as above. 4. In the next screen, provide the valid Answer to you Secret Question and enter the OTP received on SMS after verifying the OTP-ID. 5. If youve given the valid answer and OTP youll be asked for your CanSecure PIN which will activate the new computer. 6. When the Secure Browser opens your internet banking login page with your User Name pre-populated, enter your Internet Banking password to login into Internet banking website. After login you can use the website normally.

Using CanSecure on a different computer

Option 2: Using CanSecure One Time Password (OTP) Step A: Generate CanSecure OTP 1. Login to CanSecure on your regular computer. Click on My Secrets and select the option Activation OTP for New Computer. 2. Set the validity period in the window as shown below. The default number is 7 and maximum number can be 9. 3. On clicking Generate you shall see the screen as below here please note your CanSecure OTP ID and OTP

Step B: Install CanSecure on a Different/desired computer 1. When running CanSecure on new computer, the software will ask select between SMS-OTP and CanSecure OTP for activation. 2. Select Use my CanSecure OTP.

3. On the next screen, provide Answer to your Secret Question and enter the CanSecure OTP after verifying OTP-ID. 4. If youve given the valid Answer and OTP youll be asked for your CanSecure PIN which will activate the new computer and you will be taken to the internet banking login page with your User Name pre-populated. Enter your Internet Banking password to login into Internet banking account. After login you can use the website normally. Please Note: Once you Activate CanSecure, you will not be allowed to login to your account through any browser i.e. directly from Internet Banking login page. It will be mandatory for you to access your account through CanSecure. If you try to login directly through browser you will be encouraged to login through CanSecure by displaying the page as shown. This ensures that no one is able to access your account even if s/he gets hold of your Internet Banking login credentials

If you click on Yes you will be taken to Download page of CanSecure. If you click on No, following message will pop-up. Upon clicking OK you will be taken back to Internet Banking Login Page.

Other CanSecure Features

Use the Go to Window button to return to your Windows Desktop operations When at your Windows Desktop click the CanSecure button in the taskbar to get back to the CanSecure browser in Secure Desktop. To go back to your Internet banking window click on Retail Banking button. To sign-out of Internet banking and exit the CanSecure Secure Browser, click Exit CanSecure
