Objective To obtain a general education position in a K-5th classroom, in which will allow me to utilize my ability to effectively manage a classroom with small group and differentiated instruction and provide a learning rich environment in which all children grow academically and socially.

Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Arts of Elementary Education. Sixteen weeks of student teaching experience, in a first grade classroom, at Fay Galloway Elementary School. Five months teaching first grade, as a long term substitute, at Fay Galloway Elementary school. 75 + hours of field observations inside the classroom. Over 250 + hours of volunteer time spent inside CCSD classrooms. Tutor to elementary students, grades K-5, at the NSC S.M.A.R.T tutoring center. Strong foundation of classroom management techniques. Creative lessons driven by Common Core standards that promote engagement through Kagan based activities.

Teaching Experience Nevada State College Student Teaching 08/12 12/12 Student teaching was completed at Fay Galloway Elementary School in a 1st grade classroom. Weekly observations and evaluations from various supervisors. Assumed all classroom planning, instruction, and assessment duties. Delivered DRA and Discovery Education tests to student. Analyzed data and planned instruction to meet the needs of individual students. Participated in parent- teacher conferences, grade level meetings, and staff meetings.

Long Term Substitute Teaching Position- 1/12 5 /12 Taught a first grade class at Fay Galloway Elementary School. Took on full time responsibilities of a licensed teacher which include; planning lessons using Curriculum Engine, grading student work, entering student work into Easy Grade Pro, conducting small group guided reading lessons, and tracking student progress. Extended substitute teaching experience from 8/11 6/12.

Summit Ridge Day Camp Summer of 2011 and 2012 (May- August) Title: Head counselor Supervised children of various ages in team building camp based activities. Planned and organized a wide range of camp events and activities.

Nevada State College, S.M.A.R.T Tutoring Center, 6/09 to 12/09 Tutoring student in grades 1 -5, three to four days a week (3 hours per day). Created 6 months of lesson plans in math and reading. Daily feedback/ critiques on lessons from certified fifth year teacher
