Curriculum Vitae Daniel R.T.

Hartley Organizational Learning and Change Research Group at The University of Liverpool Management School Room B22, The University of Liverpool Management School. Liverpool. L69 7ZH dhartley.net I am an ethnographic researcher with ambitions to develop my research interests into post-doctoral study and larger national, and international research bids in the near future. My research interests include experiences of entrepreneurial opportunity and alternative organizational movements, and I have expertise in narrative and participatory ethnographic methodologies. My Economic & Social Research Council funded doctoral research develops a creative view of entrepreneurial opportunity by emphasising longitudinal and relational experiences of imaginative tactics. Peer Reviewed Publications 2012: Daniel Hartley & Robin Holt, As Skylarks Fly High Above...Call that an Opportunity? Entrepreneurial Images of Drummond and The17'', Organization, working paper at 2nd resubmission. Develops a processual approach to understanding opportunity as proto-organization animated by the entrepreneurial imagination amidst digital omnipotence. 2010 Book review of Hjorth, D. & Steyaert, S. (2009). "The Politics and Aesthetics of Entrepreneurship: A Fourth Movements in Entrepreneurship Book", International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research, Vol. 16 Issue: 3 (pp.260 263). Book Chapters 2012/2013: The Doing of Case Study as Entrepreneurial Topic, in Worthington, F. et al (eds.), Doing & Writing Ethnography: Practical Challenges in Qualitative Fieldwork, a forthcoming Emerald Publications book series on ethnographic fieldwork. The chapter develops a creative approach to understanding case study boundaries by emphasising their emergence during study as research topic rather than problem. 2012/2013: An Entrepreneurial Approach to Fieldwork Ethics: Creation & Relation, in Ferdinand, J. & Worthington, F. (eds.), Doing & Writing Ethnograpy: Ethical Challenges in Qualitative Fieldwork, an Emerald Publications book series on ethnographic fieldwork. Drawing from the work of Spinosa and Levinas, and my own case studies, the chapter proposes an entrepreneurial approach to research ethics that treats them as being created in the relational settings of fieldwork. 2012: Effectual & Narrative Entries into Becoming Entrepreneurial: The Organisation of Opportunity during the First 12 Months of New Business Venture, book chapter commissioned by Ossie Jones and The University of Liverpool Management School Enterprise School for Jones et al (eds.), Dynamic Entrepreneurial Learning Capabilities, forthcoming from Sage Publications.
