Explanation of Terms
Sensitivity (Lux) Quantifies the camera's low-light performance. Measured in Lux using a lens aperture of f1.2, the value represents the minimum scene illumination required by the camera to produce a useable video output. DD (Direct Drive) Dedicated connector and circuitry for Direct Drive lenses. Resolution (TV Lines) Describes the ability of the camera to discriminate fine detail in a scene. The higher the number of TV Lines, the better the resolution of the camera. AI (Auto Iris) Dedicated connector and reference signal for Auto Iris lenses.
DD Level Allows the lens drive level to be adjusted for DD type lenses.
BLC (Backlight Compensation) Automatically compensates for the silhouetting effect of a backlit subject.
BLC Window (Back Light Comp.) User selectable areas for BLC control.
EI (Electronic Iris) Feature to automatically adjust shutter duration to compensate for fluctuations in ambient light.
GAMMA Improves grey/black discrimination at low light levels.
AGC (Automatic Gain Control) Automatically adjusts the camera's gain to compensate for poor light conditions.
White Balance Shutter Feature to preserve accurate white rendition under Analogous to the shutter in a standard 35mm film different light source types. camera. Can be used to freeze fast moving subjects. LL with Phase Adjust Allows accurate synchronisation of multi-camera installations by locking the camera to the AC supply. The point on the AC cycle at which the camera locks is adjustable by 120o
Flickerless mode Feature to prevent the strobing effect under certain lighting conditions/shutter speeds.
Internal Lock Locks the camera's frame rate to its internal oscillator.
Genlock Allows multi-camera installations to be synchronised to an externally generated synchronisation signal.
S-Video Out Provides a separated Y/C video signal.
Peak White Inversion Feature that allows excessively white areas in a scene to be rendered as black and therefore not adversely affect the camera's exposure system.
PWI Threshold Sets the level at which the Peak White Inversion feature operates for white areas in the scene.

Did You Know Lux is the measurement of light and refers to levels of illumination in any given area. The amount of light in specific areas to be viewed should be given careful consideration when choosing the right cameras for installation. It is worth noting that whilst the table (right) gives indications of typical light levels it is recommended that a light meter is used to give accurate figures

Discover 601 Box Camera

The Discover 600 series fixed cameras are the ideal choice for applications requiring 540 TVL to provide super, high resolution images and true colour rendition. Depending upon the scene and lighting conditions, the camera offers AWB, AGC, AES, and BLC controls which you can set to optimise image performance. The Night-Saver mode automatically switches the cameras to B/W in scenes with less lighting to provide you with better low-light detail performance. These cameras feature internal and phase adjustable line-lock options for roll-free switching. The cameras are available with 24 VAC/12 VDC voltages to meet a variety of application requirements. A 230 VAC mains version is also available in a PAL format. The Discover 601 series cameras offer the same features as the 600 series but also include a moving mechanical IR cut filter which provides True Day/Night functionality. For scenes with typical lighting such as daylight or lit indoor applications, the camera provides a 540 TVL super, high resolution image. When light levels drop, the camera automatically removes its IR cut filter and switches from colour to B/W to capture images in very low light. Both series of cameras are extremely reliable, easy-toinstall, and designed for use in a wide variety of applications. These cameras are ideally suited for use in areas where high performance in a variety of lighting conditions is required.

HD stands for High Definition, and SDI stands for Serial Digital Interface a family of standardised, broadcast quality digital interfaces using BNC connectors. The standard was adopted by the SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers). Because of its origins in broadcast, the definition and picture quality of HD-SDI footage is noticeably higher than a standard analogue signal. The technology has now been adopted by the CCTV sector, because it has been designed with the sole purpose of providing Megapixel, High Definition footage over standard co-ax cable, it is perfectly suited to CCTV, where the majority of existing systems use co-ax. HD-SDI is significantly easier for experienced CCTV installers to get to grips with. Compared with IP installers can install HD-SDI straight away with next to no training. There is also very little risk of get, ting in to complications when installing it, as long as installers are already experienced in installing analogue CCTV.

ZC-D8000 Series 600 TVL Internal Dome Cameras

The GANZ ZC-D8000 internal Dome Camera series features superb image quality with 600tvl resolution. A varifocal 3.0 12.0mm varifocal DC Iris lens and 3 axis gimbal ensures that the camera can easily be positioned and adjusted for the required view. Installation and setup are very straight forward with OSD menus for all programmable camera settings. A service monitor connection provides additional convenience during set up and commissioning. The ZC-D8000 series offers different models, you can select the model to suit your application, colour camera variant ZC-D8312PBA or the ZC-DN8312PBA with mechanical day/night switch-over. The ZC-DWN8312PBA features a Pixim Seawolf sensor with mechanical day/night switchover and WDR functionality.

The Discover series of Mini-Domes delivers a vandal resistant camera solution at a non-vandal resistant price. This series of high performance Mini-Domes includes high impact, vandal resistant dome housings built to withstand even the harshest environments. Unlike other dome housings in the industry, which are made of metal, the Discover series housing is made with extremely durable composite and polycarbonate materials that have shape memory. The Discover housing comes with a choice of clear or tinted vandal resistant bubbles and includes a bubble liner to make it more covert. An advanced pivoting axis lets you position the camera at exactly the angle you need, while optimal white balance provides the clearest, most colour-perfect images possible. With three different types of mini-domes to choose from, theres a Discover solution just right for your particular requirements. The Discover wide dynamic range (WDR) Mini-Dome uses over 504 lines of resolution and a pixel-bypixel shutter speed that lets you see better in areas where both very bright and dark areas exist, such as an entranceway. This model also features up to a 2x digital zoom to get an even closer view of the action. Night-Saver mode improves performance in low light situations, automatically switching from colour to monochrome as light dims and reverting back to colour once light is restored. Previously we had offered the Network Software only and recommended the specification for the customer to source a suitable server. To simplify the selection process we are now adding two new servers with the VMS (Video Management System) software preloaded. Part number VA-SW50SVR01 is a 5 Bay rack mount server Core 2 Quad Processor 4GB memory Windows XP Pro 64bit. Pre-Loaded with VA-SW50 VMS software (inc keyboard and mouse) Part Number VA-SW60SVR01 is a 5 Bay rack mount server Core 2 Quad Processor 4GB memory Windows XP Pro 64bit. Pre-Loaded with VA-SW60 VMS software (inc keyboard and mouse) Please note that hard disk storage for these servers should be ordered separately and can be ordered in 1TB or 2TB sizes. Each server can take up to a maximum of 5 discs.
