I was the one who would light up a room It was my voice that could strike up a tune Upbeat and cheerful Id most often be There wasnt a dull moment when I was around I loved to have fun if it was to be found Dancing and laughing and so full of glee While others might stand in the back of a crowd To the front I would go to shout and cheer aloud Right in my element for the whole world to see I know you will miss me, but please do not cry This is not how I would choose our goodbye Id like to think you would help me celebrate My triumphant march through Gods heavenly gates, Stop and imagine my wait at the door Just knowing theres something quite awesome in store This is the place where Im supposed to be

Obituary
Cecily Ayonne Watkins was born on November 21, 1972, as the second child to Lawrence & Evangeline (Vangie) Watkins. Cecily passed from this earthly realm on Saturday, October 27, 2012. In 39 years, she touched many lives in her special way and will long be remembered for her contagious smile, her boundless energy, her love for her friends and family, and her unabashed love of the Lord. Cecily was born in Berkeley, California, at Alta Bates Hospital. Her family moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1973, where she was raised. She attended Central Presbyterian Nursery School and Spelman Nursery. She also attended The Childrens School but completed her middle school education at Bunche Middle School. After middle school, Cecily attended Therrell High School, but soon realized that her heart was in entertainment and asked her mother to allow her to transfer to Northside School of Performing Arts, where she later graduated. While at Northside, Cecily was recruited by Oxford College. At Oxford, she received an Associate of Arts Degree and moved on to Emory, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and her Pre-K Certification. After graduation, she accepted a position at Findley Oaks Elementary School and later at A. Phillip Randolph Elementary School, both within the Fulton County School System. Subsequently, Cecily changed her focus and began teaching within a Christian environment. Her first assignment was at Destiny Day School, now Destiny Academy, where she taught for four years. Cecily later taught at Primrose Schools, and was teaching at Sunbrook Academy when she passed. Cecily truly believed that she was called to educate children. She enjoyed the energy and unconditional love that children often exhibited in her presence.

In her spare time, Cecily enjoyed cooking, watching the food channels, collecting movies, was an avid swimmer and worked out every morning. Most of all she loved to sing and dance! Cecilys best friend was Jesus Christ. She talked to Him when she awoke and before she went to bed. She felt her destiny in life was to perform His will for her life. She believed that He always had her back and that He never left her side. Cecily prayed regularly for direction, and never hesitated to let others know that she was committed to serving the Lord. Her dancing and singing were often her way of telling the world how much she loved Him. She was never embarrassed to let anyone know how she felt, and often talked about the good things that the Lord had done and was doing in her life. Though she is no longer with us, she understood that not being here in this earthly realm meant that she would be in the spiritual realm with the One she loved most and who loved her even more. Cecily will always be remembered for her bubbly personality, her enthusiasm, and her energetic spirit. She was loaned to us for a season and will now spend eternity with her Heavenly Father, where she can dance and sing and write jingles all day long! Cecily is survived by her mother, Evangeline (Vangie) Watkins, brother, Daryl Johnson, nephew Daryl Phillip, Jr., (D.J.), aunts, Eunice DesBoine and Arifa Abduhl, and uncle, Joseph Morris, along with a host of extended family and friends. We will miss you Cecily!
