The False God

And the Challenge of

DEMOCRACY

The word democracy has become one of the most used and yet one of the most misunderstood terms today. The Americans and British insist that they are fighting for democracy in Afghanistan and Iraq, the leaders in Muslim countries insist that they are democratic, democracy has become a symbol for people to call for and people even argue as to who was the first person to discover democracy. In truth the word democracy has many uses however in the political context democracy means to rule over the people according to what they wish, in other words the rule by the majority, usually through voting in elections where every adult person has a vote or say. Democracy is therefore clearly contrary to Islam. In Islam Muslims do not have a choice but to rule over themselves by the Shariah i.e. Islamic law and order. Moreover the majority of the people are not left to decide the fate of the minority. Rather Allah (SWT) says clearly in the Quran that: The ruling is for none but Allah (SWT) [EMQ 12:40] and he says: And if you obey most of those on earth (i.e. the majority), they will mislead you far away from Allah's Path. They follow nothing but conjectures, and they do nothing but lie. [EMQ 6: 116] In addition if we look at the consequences of ruling by what the majority say, as in democracy, we find that wherever we look in the world the majority have made laws which are not only contrary to Islam but have led to chaos and mayhem. The fruits of democracy in the West and East have legalised fornication, homosexuality, alcohol, adultery, lying, gambling, usury, drugs, pornography, abusing Muslims, becoming apostates from Islam and insulting the Messenger Muhammad (saw) to name but a few. Hence this is definitely against the core belief and practices of any Muslim. In total opposition to democracy Muslims must believe that it is only Allah (SWT) who has the right to legislate laws and that we Muslims

are in fact only tasked with implementing the laws and not actually making them. In other words there is no system in Islam for people to make up the laws as they go along which contradict with the Islamic Law i.e. Shariah. The Islamic system of government is known as the Khilafah (Islamic State) and existed on Earth from the time of the Messenger Muhammad (saw) until the 3rd March 1924 when it was destroyed mainly at the hands of the British. However it is still obliged upon Muslims to establish it wherever they are so that they can live under the rules of Islam. If one now looks once again at the use of the word Democracy we can see that the reason why the Americans and British occupy land in Iraq and Afghanistan and kill Muslims is to try to make sure Muslims do not implement Islamic law. Moreover the leaders in Muslim countries use the word democracy to justify their own position and authority by saying that they in fact represent the majority view of the people. And sadly the argument over who first discovered Democracy is due to people actually being fooled into thinking that the idea is good as every adult has a say as to what law to live by! Today we can see that the call for Islamic law and hence the abolition of democracy is very strong in many Muslim countries such as Tunisia, Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan. This is due to a revival amongst Muslims after witnessing decades of injustice and oppression under man made law and after going back to the Quran and Sunnah (actions of the Messenger Muhammad (saw)) to see what Allah (SWT) and his Prophet actually ordered us to rule by. For the above reasons we can now see why the Western countries such as America and Britain are very eager to try to make sure that the Muslims do not implement Islam because they know that once this happens then the future Islamic State (Khilafah) will begin to remove all man made law, including democracy, from the planet Earth and that all the corruption which they have become used to will be subject to being removed. In the past the people used to ask the false Gods that they made with their own hands out of stones i.e. idols, what they should do and rule by, whereas today we see that these idols have been replaced by people who refer to the majority rule i.e. democracy, as the new False God to decide their own affairs and rules in complete contrast to what Allah (SWT) has already decided for mankind.
