So far, Distance education has been interpreted in as very narrow sense that is to get a degree privately or through correspondence. But today, The implications of Distance education, so called, education through correspondence, has gone such a long way that it has surpassed even the merits of regular study, both qualitative as well as quantitatively. Distance Education, Today, has become the order of the day, both from time point of view and economic point of view. The horizon of educated people is becoming so widened only due to distance education. Distance education has taught the people EARN WHILE LEARN THEORY, which was totally neglected in the past. Not only this, even Distance education has awakened the neglected rural population. Distance Education has enabled literates to overcome illiterates. More over Distance Education has provided the chance to everyone to get education. It is quite cheap, time saving and qualitative as compare to regular study. No doubt, today, the institutions have made it purely commercial and only a source of earning income at the cost of its positive effects and implementation. Distance education is not at all a bad thing but the need is to understand it and also its for reaching positive effects. The need is to redefine, reinterpret, remodel, restructure and reunderstand the true meaning of distance education. The model of distance education has been adopted purely to spread education to every corner so that the aim of government policy to remove illiteracy from India, but to achieve this aim, the slogan of Distance education may not be misunderstood an misapplied. So, caution, here is first to redefine it properly in true prospective without any biasness and political motive. Distance education enables the people to utilize properly and optimally there utilized talent. It has proved torch bearer a especially for poors, that even they can also get education, despite the fact, they have merger sources at their disposal. They can reach to the unreached positions through distance education which they have never dreamt of even. Distance education is quite helpful to enlighten the dark dungeons of the people of remote areas. Distance Education should not be taken as a casual; rather it should be treated as a very good source of getting education in those areas where the education facilities are not available. The need is to streamline the Distance education network. Distance education should not be taken as a Education Shop but it should be considered as open Education Temple where everybody is free to go and get education. EXAMINATION
The students are assessed based on course work and examination for every program. IIMT STUDIES functions with the method that the three hour examination system is old fashioned as it only puts additional stress on students. As soon as the students are ready to take the exams they are required to apply in the institution for question papers which are to be answered with the method of open book examination method. The candidates are required to submit the answers within the prescribed time limit to the institute through courier/speed post /e-mail. This unique methodology helps students in PH. D. Program. IIMT STUDIES has designed this novel, liberal, rhetoric education methodology that allows students to make maximum benefits in writing answers to secure higher grades. Project Study: It is mandatory to be the process of project work / project study if you are a management student if IIMT Studies. This session has to be taken after the written examination held by any particular. Depending on any of the specialization subject, the project work / study has to be submitted after the entire research of the particular dept / specialization chosen. It is briefed that the project work can be successfully completed with more convenience if done on your on employer (current or past). Viva: Video or a telecon conversation can be the mode in this examination system. Viva is designed as per employers requirement. The professional skills are required to pass this exam. It is mandatory to pass out viva examination to pass the course. Others If the students desire to appear for three hour class room examination, they can do so. The exams will be conducted at various IIMT STUDIES study centers. In such case students will not be allowed to refer the study material in the examination center. The students should intimate the preference for this option at the time of registration. Exam Pattern: Students are allowed to appear for the examinations Study Centre Based Exam (SCBE), Online Based Exam (OBE) and Project Based Exam (PBE). The Examination process can be started only after getting (Exam Process Code) EPC from the IIMT - CENTRE. Components of OBE - PBE The following components will comprise the OBE-PBE for each course: Subjective or Objective Case or problem solving exercises Conditions for OBE - PBE Students should fulfill the following conditions: They should be enrolled for the course They should have received EPC from respective centre. They should have paid examination fees (applicable to reappear students)

Evaluation The evaluation system of the programme is based on following components: Grading Students have to secure 50% marks in each subject Grading will be awarded as under Grace Marks A total of three marks are allowed as grace marks over two modules spanning a complete academic year. The student may avail the grace marks over a maximum of three subjects or a minimum of one subject. Centralized Exams at Exam Hall In order to have better control on the conduct of examinations and improve the quality thereof, it has been decided to centralize the examinations at Examination Hall as decided by IIMT CDL (applicable to freshers only) Re-Examination and Late submission Charges If the student fails to clear any of the examinations or skip the examination, it can be covered through reexamination process easily by paying negligible charges of INR 250 per subject.
