MONTHLY CRIME BULLETIN Burglary October 2012 Activity Summary: There were twenty-one (21) burglaries reported in October 2012. There were thirteen (13) burglaries reported during the same timeframe in 2011. This is a 62% increase from 2011 to 2012. Seventeen (17), or 81%, of the incidents involved residential locations. Fifteen (15) incidents, or 71%, involved forced entry. Six (6) incidents, or 29%, were discovered on a Thursday. Six (6) incidents, or 29%, were discovered between the hours of 0800 1159 and six (6) were discovered between the hours of 1200 - 1559. Fourteen (14) incidents are open for further investigation, three (3) have been closed with leads exhausted, two (2) have been closed due to victim refusal to cooperate, one (1) has been closed by arrest and one (1) has been closed unfounded. Historically, HPD has an average of 17 burglaries during the month of October with a current threshold of 13 to 21. This October, we met the threshold with 21 reported burglaries. Forecast for November: The average number of burglaries for the month of November is 22 plus or minus 9.
