A sensitive glutamate biosensor is prepared based on glutamate dehydrogenase/vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (GLDH, VACNTs). Vertically aligned carbon nanotubes were grown on a silicon substrate by direct current plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition (DCPECVD) method. Glutamate dehydrogenase covalently attached on tip of VACNTs. The electrochemical performance of the electrode for detection of glutamate was investigated by cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry. The linear calibration curve of the concentration of glutamate versus peak current was investigated in a wide range of 0.1 to 500 M. The mediator less biosensor has a low detection limit of 57 nM, two linear range of 0.1-20 M with sensitivity of 0.976 mA.mM-1cm-2 and the range of 20-300 M and a sensitivity of 0.182 mAmM-1cm-2. In the presence of 1 M thionine as an electron mediator, the prepared biosensor has a low detection limit of 68 nM, two linear range of 0.1-20 with sensitivity of 1.17 mA mM-1cm-2, and the range of 1-500 M with a calibration sensitivity of 0.153 mA mM1 cm-2. The effects of the other biological compounds on the voltammetric behaviour of the prepared biosensor and its response stability are investigated. The results are demonstrated that the GLDH/ VACNTs electrode even without electron mediator is a suitable basic electrode for detection of glutamate. Acylals were synthesized from aromatic aldehydes and acetic anhydride in the presence of nano silica supported boron trifluoride (nanoBF3.SiO2). The reactions were carried out at room temperature under solvent-free condition. This method have some advantages such as good to excellent yields, mild reaction condition, ease of operation and workup, short reaction times and high purity products. A sensitive amperometric hydrogen peroxide sensor was fabricated based on silver/graphene nanosheets ionic liquid electrode. Electrochemical investigations indicated that the silver/graphene nanosheets ionic liquid electrode exhibited a high peak current towards the reduction of hydrogen peroxide. This nanocomposite electrode displayed a wide linear range (0.0550 mM) and low limit of detection (1 M). The proposed composite electrode exhibits good catalytic activity toward reduction of hydrogen peroxide, good stability and reproducibility. Solar energy utilization (solar chemical conversion) through semiconductor photocatalysis has been intensively investigated for both environmental and energy applications. Because pure titania has low activity for solar chemical conversion, its property should be modified in various ways for practical applications. Therefore, various hybrids of TiO2 were prepared by chemical modifications and tested for the hydrogen production and pollutant degradation under UV and visible light irradiation. A variety of surface modification methods (e.g., metal deposition, anion modification, carbon nanomaterial hybridization, and polymer coating) have been employed to improve the photonic efficiency. The chemical modification of TiO2 for visible light activity has been also tried in many ways such as dye-sensitization, doping, charge transfer complexation, and semiconductor coupling. Silver (Ag) paste nanocomposite electrode was used for detection and determination of hydrazine. This electrode has a high catalytic activity toward electro-oxidation of hydrazine in the alkaline media. High stability and antifouling properties make this electrode a good candidate for fuel cell applications. Simplicity of electrode fabrication, renewing of the electrode surface, together with high electrocatalytic and adsorption effects, increased degree of active area and surface roughness, low cost and low weight are among the advantageous features of this electrode for hydrazine detection. Repetitive double step amperometry was introduced as
