Job Description Program Director, Junior Camp

OVERVIEW
Join an exciting team of 100+ summertime professionals! At Camp Nabby we hire the very best athletes, educators and coaches in Westchester county. As the Program Director of the Junior Camp you will be expected to be the eyes and ears of 15-17 groups, including counselors and campers. You will be challenged to engage our younger campers, boys and girls, ages 3-8, in a variety of special events and activities. You will be the primary source of information for the camp directors, effectively communicating any and all issues regarding campers and staff. As a member of the leadership team at camp, you will be relied upon to collaborate with our two other Program Directors to plan and execute special events. This unit is responsible for providing creativity, leadership, and unparalleled energy and enthusiasm for camp. Take a look at the job functions below as a self-evaluation tool. TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet daily with Program Directors from the senior camp and special events to brainstorm and strategize. Develop a morning event calendar with ideas, sketches and other activities; propose new ideas and any/all necessary props to camp directors at least one week in advance. Assist in camp dismissal by delegating responsibilities to crews at our three main stations: main stage, back gate and front gate.

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Embody Camp Nabbys enthusiastic and adventurous spirit. Be a role model for campers and staff through your attitude and behavior. Cultivate working relationship with staff by providing an opportunity for professional growth and development. Help train staff (group heads, assistants & CITs) to ensure constant growth and achievement. Work closely with front office to create and implement plans and strategies. Maintain a strong relationship with parents through effective communication (when necessary) Provide a high level of customer service to our parents and children. Be alert to campers and staff needs and assist them with personal and/or health problems; communicating all issues to the Health Director and/or Directors. Contribute to the Nabby News blog with news and events from the junior camp.

QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years experience as an educator (Masters Degree in Childhood Education or Physical Education preferred) 4+ years experience as a camp counselor First aid/CPR certification is a plus
