Why don’t some believe in Jesus?
In society there are some who do not believe in Jesus. The
question we must answer is, “Why don’t some believe in
Jesus?”
The answer is found in the time of Jesus. Jesus had been
teaching some of the Jews about himself, but they had
problems understanding him. The problem was they were
bound to the earth and the “law of works” that is, the Law
of Moses. Because they had problems differentiating
between physical things and spiritual things, they
stumbled at his doctrine. When Jesus made the statement,
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you
free,” all they could reason was being physically free. The
freedom Jesus spoke of was the freedom from sins. Jesus
makes a statement that rings true today. He first
acknowledges their physical bond to Abraham, and states,
“I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me,
because my word hath no place in you.”
This is a problem today. People reject Jesus’ words because
he has no place in their hearts. They have not prepared
their hearts to accept and obey him. They seek to kill him
by denying him to others and when mentioned, they
refuse him and speak words contrary to his being. Without
knowing it, these people become an antichrist. John wrote
of the antichrist, “Little children, it is the last time: and as
ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are
there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last
time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if
they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued
with us: but they went out, that they might be made
manifest that they were not all of us. But ye have an
unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. I have
not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but
because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a
antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.” 1 John
2:18-22 (KJV)
He wrote later saying, “And every spirit that confesseth not
that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this
is that spirit of antichrists, whereof ye have heard that it
should come; and even now already is it in the world.” 1
John 4:3 (KJV)
“For many deceivers are entered into the world, who
confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a
deceiver and an antichrist.” 2 John 1:7 (KJV)
By denying that Jesus has come in the flesh, they seek to
kill him. They seek to kill him because his words are not in
them. Like the Gentiles of the first century, they failed to
see the God and even fail to acknowledge a “god,” in the
loosest sense. For this they will be eternally condemned of
their actions.
I somewhat doubt that many people would be comfortable
in being called an, “antichrist” or in being accused of
seeking to kill Jesus. This is because such words and
thoughts are not “politically correct.” However, it is
spiritually correct to use such terms.
Friend, if you find yourself denying the existence of Christ,
or find yourself denying him, please take a moment to
consider the possibility of such a one. Question yourself
about the origin of the universe and the origin of man.
When you consider the physical universe, do you really
believe in the theory of evolution? If so consider this
passage, “For thus saith the Lord that created the
heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it;
he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed
it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.”

If you believe in the theory of evolution then why, after 4.6
billion years are the other planets void of life? They have
had the same beginning as the earth. They have had the
same opportunity to evolve.
Further, consider your own logic and observation. The
book of Genesis, written thousands of years ago, states
that plants and animals reproduce after their own kind
(see Genesis 1:11-12, 21, 24-25). The theory of evolution
says one species evolves into a different species. What do
you see? If you found a watch lying on the ground in a
forest, would you believe it evolved or that someone
dropped it? Why? The human body is much more complex
than a watch.

What did Jesus do for us?
When we consider the birth, life, death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ we note why he came and suffered.
He suffered for us: “For even hereunto were ye called:
because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example,
that ye should follow his steps:” 1 Peter 2:21 (KJV)
He gave himself as a sacrifice for us to redeem us: “Who
gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all
iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous
of good works.” Titus 2:14 (KJV)
He obtained eternal redemption for us: “Neither by the
blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered
in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal
redemption for us.” Hebrews 9:12 (KJV)
We have a new and living way because he consecrated us,
“By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for
us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;” Hebrews
10:20 (KJV)
His appearance before the presence of God is for us: “For
Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands,
which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself,
now to appear in the presence of God for us:” Hebrews
9:24 (KJV)
What does Jesus ask of us?
What does Jesus ask of us? That we abstain from sin, obey
his gospel and walk in newness of life: “Know ye not, that
so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were
baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him
by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up
from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also
should walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:3-4 (KJV)
