Winter 2013 Important Dates


Fees for new students - January 2013 intake are due. Web registration for January 2013 (Winter 2013 term) starts.

Notes
A late charge of $125.00 will be applied after this date. Check STU-VIEW for staggered registration periods to see when you can start to register. It is your responsibility to ensure you are registered for all of your courses either online or in person at the Student Service Centre. This must be done for all semesters you are registered in for the academic year. You will not be automatically registered by the College once you make a payment. All students are permitted to drop courses on-line (right up to Academic Penalty Deadline Date). Please note: it is your responsibility to ensure that you are registered for all required courses. Prior to dropping courses you should seek Academic Advising from your Academic Divisional Office. Log on to STU-VIEW at www.georgebrown.ca and select GO Transit Student ID Card Request. In order to ensure that you are placed in the correct English and math courses you must complete placement tests. If you do not complete the placement test(s) by this date you may be placed in the foundation course(s). For more information go to STU-VIEW and select the ASSESSMENT CENTRE link.

College closed for holiday break. College re-opens. Orientation for new students. Official Start-Up for the January 2013 Intake Winter 2013 Semester starts. Registration for part-time day courses accepted. Last day to add a course to your schedule. Final day for late admission to post-secondary programs starting in January, 2013. Last day to transfer programs or sections within a program. Last day to apply for a discounted student GO Transit pass for the Winter Term. Last day to apply for a course exemption. Last day to drop a course from your schedule. Courses may be dropped on-line for all programs via STU-VIEW.

Add a course on-line via STU-VIEW. If space is available the College will consider late applicants for admission to programs starting in January, 2013. Transfer sections on-line via STU-VIEW. See your Academic Divisional Office to transfer programs. Log on to STU-VIEW at www.georgebrown.ca and select GO Transit Student ID Card Request. Apply to your academic division. Note: You can apply as soon as you are registered. Note: students who drop more than 2 courses may fall into part-time status and may be entitled to a refund. As well, eligibility for OSAP may be jeopardized. Please note: it is your responsibility to ensure that you are registered for all required courses. Prior to dropping courses you should seek Academic Advising from your Academic Divisional Office. Note: This deadline date is strictly enforced. Please withdraw for your program on-line - you will be required to provide a reason. Otherwise, requests for withdrawals must be submitted in writing to the Registrar's Office by the due date. Check your timetable in STU-VIEW to see if you have been granted an exemption. You can also check the "View Denied Exemption Requests" link in STU-VIEW. CAPP Reports for Winter 2013 are now available for review All Decisions regarding the granting of exemptions are finalized by Academic Divisions. Last day to opt out from the Student Health Insurance Plan for the Winter 2013 Term. (For students starting in January 2013 only). Last day to withdraw from a course or an entire program (Winter 2013 Term) - SESSION 1 - (7 week courses) without academic penalty. You may drop a course or withdraw from a program on-line via STU-VIEW. PLAR submission deadline for Summer 2013 Semester. Last day to apply for family dependent coverage under Student Health insurance Plan for the Winter 2013 term. (For students starting in January 2013 only). Statutory Holiday - (Family Day) College Closed KPI - Student Satisfaction Formal Survey week. Winter Semester - Intersession Week. Last day to withdraw from a course or an entire program (Winter 2013 Term) - FULL SEMESTER - (14 week courses) without academic penalty. You may drop a course or withdraw from a program on-line via STU-VIEW. FROM THE WINTER TERM. Good Friday -College Closed. Due date for Application to Graduate (in June 2013) to be submitted to the Office of the Registrar. Last day to withdraw from a course or an entire program - (Winter 2013 Term - SESSION 2 - (7 week courses) without academic penalty. You may drop a course or withdraw from a program on-line via STU-VIEW. Winter Semester ends. Winter 2013 semester grades are available on STU-VIEW. Deadline for students to RSVP to attend Convocation (in June 2013). Convocation Ceremonies.
