Job Title: Afterschool care Dept.

/School: Founders Classical Academy Position Summary: Work under the general supervision of the Campus Director (principal) and immediate direction of the Classroom / Learning Center teacher. Qualifications: Education/Certification A minimum of passing the THEA required for Highly Qualified status. Associates degree or equivalent from two-year accredited College preferred. Teachers Certificate recommended but not required. Experience 1+ year of experience working with students, preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Must have a passion for students. Must have the ability and patience to work interactively with students. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills to implement multiple and diverse programs. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Preferred KSAs 2-3 years of experience as a Paraprofessional for a Charter School. 2-3 years of experience maintaining and supporting programs for students. Responsibilities and Duties Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of materials and equipment. Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports. Conduct instructional activities as directed by the teacher for individual students or small groups of students. Distribute lesson packs or assign computer lessons to students. Grade student tests, enter scores on Student Progress Records, and prepare congratulations slips for passed tests. Assist teachers in checking daily goals to ensure work is being completed. Motivate students for maximum learning. Assume responsibility for learning how to work with students individual needs. Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom; this may include some campus duties. Inspire students with consistency, care, and interest to build students self-esteem, and promote further success. Praise students, compliment them and encourage them in order to build character.

Utilize a variety of learning methods to enhance the students learning experience. Keep teacher informed of specific students progress/needs. Demonstrate support for student management policy and maintain confidentiality. Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned. Perform special projects, during and after normal business hours, and other duties as assigned. May travel as necessary.
