Bases training content on accurate, current information consistent with sound theories and principles of child development, developmentally appropriate practice, accurate interpretation of quality standards and licensing/legal regulations. 5. Maintains resources that are current and topic-related to refer to concerning controversial issues, questions, or experiences (e.g., experts, agencies, publications, professional organizations). 6. Presentation and Delivery


1. Prepares for training by reviewing materials, understanding learner characteristics, becoming familiar with learning environment, etc. 2. Delivers training based on adult learning principles to enhance motivation and improve retention; uses a variety of learning methods, and sets a flexible, comfortable, and collaborative learning environment. 3. Gives a lecture that is well organized, easy to follow, contains examples and visual components, and involves the learner. 4. Conducts an effective discussion by asking appropriate questions to clarify and expand the topic, keeping the learners on track, and summarizing main points. 5. Facilitates exercises, case studies, games, simulations, etc. by giving clear directions, grouping learners in different ways, drawing out learners reactions, and helping the learner apply learning from these experiences. 6. Conducts a demonstration to show the correct way to complete a process or procedure while explaining what the learners hear and see. Supervises learners in a return demonstration, asking questions, giving feedback, and making corrections. 7. Sets up and structures the role play to promote empathy or skill practice. Observes participants and gives feedback to promote learning and application of skills on the job.
