Thoth

Dear World, Oh, here we go, down the rabbit hole to a fuzzy realm of maybes and crossroads without signs. Oh, no. I have already begun to demerit my pathos by speaking in a hard to understand manner and not providing facts of matter promptly; nor do I establish any sort of credibility. Thats truly tragedy that this will wilt what weight was taken from my message. sporadic-

paradoxical-singularity Maybe this passage should have been placed somewhere else
in the paper after I have given you my grand message. Maybe I dont have a message at all? Now youre in the stuck in the dark and youre uncomfortable because youre not sure where this is going. Perhaps not; there is always the chance that it intrigues you. Things that break symmetry always draw attention. You ask yourself, This guy better getting somewhere quick before he loses me with all this nonsense. Should I go back and rewrite it all and start over again in such ways that appeal to the biochemical patterns embedded into the majority of societys neurological networks? It would certainly get me a better grade but for what reason do I desire the grade? I could write an essay in an efficient and proper format, state my arguments, input a minimal amount of effort and then move on with my life. Orrrrrr I could offer you a genuine unfiltered dialogue with my psyche. Do you know how rare it is to have my writing read by an intelligent and educated individual that carefully looks at what I say and digests it and in some rare cases I am lucky enough to provoke feedback. My chance to share myself with you is taken away and in its place imposed rigid standards of regularity. What If I just think differently? When I write it thrills me to know that whatever I write will carry information into another persons world in a form that I can completely predestine. What a uniquely human trait, the ability to trade predestined information. See, you just participated in birth of a thought. Could that have happened in such a rigid system of writing? My thoughts are not rigid; they are shifting and transforming energy; they are flowing from me at a completely unique frequency. Some points of the wave function contain lots of coherent information (peaks) but equally as many incoherent points (troughs). You just want the peaks but from the troughs emerge uniqueness. When I begin writing I just want to share with you all the mysteries and beautiful wonders that cross my mind. I feel like if I deleted this page and started over at this point I might cry, because I would have lost this connection with you, whoever happens to be reading this.
I am writing this in a time where the world is facing unprecedented change in the face of technological evolution; no one can deny this fact in itself as our ability to process and analyze data is increasing at an exponential rate according to Moores Law and with it the boundaries of our science. This means roughly that the potential of the technology we possess will double every year and a half from what it was the year before. We as members of the human race are beginning to hyper-evolve coupled

with our technology. The evolution I speak of is not a purely a physiological evolution but rather a blend sociological and psychological evolutions that will not occur independent of one another but rather complimentary of one another. The evolutions will not take place in a single individual but rather on larger macroscopic scales of society, but we must understand what this means. This does not mean that individual actions do not affect the outcome of the evolution but rather it means that their individual or microscopic interactions will interact with each other individual in a very complex and sophisticated way. The accumulation of such micro-interactions will form a global change. Much like the ensemble of incoherent quantum fluctuation give rise to determinate Newtonian systems. Our consciousnesss future is inexorably intertwined with that of our technology in such a way that they may never again be separate.

A question that might arise is, How does it affect me? One could rightfully assume that since we have gotten along fine and dandy without this knowledge in past that there is no reason why we should begin to take it into account now but that would be a disastrous mistake. You might think this a dramatic take on the matter because you quickly associate the world evolution with very large timescales that are so disproportionate to our lifetimes. That it is impractical and improbable that our actions will have any consequential or immediate effects on this evolutionary progress. I am here to argue the contrary. Over the last 100 years our specie has evolved more than all the rest of human history combined. This is a phenomenal notion considering everyday this evolutionary acceleration is increased. What was considered impossible 30 years ago is mere convenience today, take the Human Genome Project as a clear example. These evolutions driven by our technologies reshape the very nature of our Sociological and Psychological structures. To further illustrate this point of drastic and immanent change to the very foundations of our everyday lives let me offer you a simple insight into todays evolving technological world. It is safe to assume that that nearly every influential member of society has a digital media profile i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram as well as a mobile means of connecting to that profile. In less than a year we will have glasses that impose a virtual reality over our vision and in 10 years or less we will have fully integrated LED display contact lenses that are linked directly to the screens of our smart phones and will have the capability of being controlled via motions sensors attached to your person.i So what? People have contacts that display computer screens in their vision, what does this have to do with the evolution of our specie. This is actually going to have a momentous impact on the future of our sociologies, physiology, and psychology. For instance let us analyze a situation where I am in my room, and my roommate is at the store and I want to talk to him. With these new technological advancements I can simply wave my hand in a particular way and voila! I have sent a message to my roommate via Facebook which he will be able to receive instantly on his own LED influenced vision. Think about what just happened, with absolutely no physical interaction I was able to deliver information to my roommate who is on the other side of my home. Is this any different than we would consider telepathy? What if when I met you my vision

instantly brought up your Facebook profile with your generic information including but not limited to hometown, relationship status, and age? The list goes on and on. What is coming is a reshaping of the human psyche via forced techno-evolution. While it might seem frightening with this techno-evolution comes the ever more connected nature of our specie and one step closer towards a global community. Some people will make the argument that they dont agree with our dependence on technology and think that we should shy away from such severe integration with our creations. One could say that these are people who do not understand what it means to be human and what it means to occupy an ecological niche-space. Humans can no more become independent of technology than wolves can become independent of their keen smell and cooperative hunting tactics or bees can become independent of their ability to recognize flowers and harvest nectar from them. If either the wolf or the bee were to become independent of those traits, they would cease to be the entity that they are. Technology is a defining characteristic. It is part of who we are. The Occupy Wall St. movement and similar protests movements have garnered much attention over the past months as our country and countries around the world turn their gaze towards the rapidly growing social inequalities that are prominent in nearly every nation across the globe. The rapidly expanding "Occupy Wall Street" movement is reacting to anxiety, frustration and fear but it is being fueled by a powerful and worldwide desire for a major change in moral priorities, where cooperation and altruism replace selfishness and greed. OWS is in essence a worldwide intervention on a corrupt and greed addicted corporate state and the people will lead this evolutionary shift in global consciousness by demanding truth, fairness and justice - Allen L Roland

[Our] economic and political elites [are] even more reactive to a new ideological formulation than to any specific political program. Those elites understand ...that the current system depends on ideological obeisance at the altar of individualism, materialism, and competitiveness. The current system depends on the goal of "progress" understood as the accumulation of goods, rather than as the improvement of our quality of life or the development of our soul and our capacities to be loving and generous.- Michael Lerner

What began as The Arab Spring, a unified and revolutionary outburst of protest in the Arab world to obtain social equality and justice quickly spread first throughout the Middle East then to the western societies. One way in which this movement has been progressed is through a mechanism called Crowd Sourcing which is another way of stating collaborative journalism. This is the idea that everyone everywhere is now creating news through photographing, recording, and posting their experiences on the internet. This takes away from the main stream medias ability to spin news or contort facts. States of affairs are becoming increasingly transparent due to this collective means of sharing news and information. All this is made possible through the integration of communication technologies into peoples lives.

I had once read a passage written by Gerard Jones, an illustrator for The Hulk, titled Violent Media is Good for Kids. I had already read it twice through and I had found a kind of middle ground on the subject, but then I reread this paragraph that this whole premise relies on:

Fear, greed, power-hunger, rage: these are aspects of our selves we try not to experience in our lives but often want, even, need, to experience vicariously through stories of others, Children need violent entertainment in order to explore the inescapable feelings they have been taught to deny, and to reintegrate those feelings into a more whole, more complex, resilient selfhood. Melanie Moore
This statement is followed by the thesis a,

[]hero helps children learn to push back against a modern culture that cultivates fear and teaches dependency.
So society can cultivate fear and dependency yet rage and aggression are completely inherent? I am going to go out on a limb and throw greed and power-hunger in the mix with accusations of our mind polluting culture. Here is the paradox. We have a culture that is cultivating the very emotions that we are trying to design some sort irrigation system for. The violent media is intended to divert the negative emotions kids feel and super heroes are part of that culture. Violence is but a symptom of poorly structured culture. So are greed, power-hunger, and rage. Destruction is a natural phenomenon in that occurs completely unintentionally and by a product of circumstance, violence however, is an act of destruction that was committed with intent. It is, therefore, a choice. We choose violence. It is not inevitable. In the past, prior to higher order conscious beings, violence was a means of survival and was therefore an integral part of existence and ingrained in our biology; a tool. We choose to utilize it. We no longer require violence, it is simply and inconvenient lingering evolutionary trait; an archaic tool. Violence is only produced through conflict and conflict only negates from the overall value of our collective whole. It is senseless to argue that conflict is intrinsic when indeed pure altruistic systems benefit themselves the highest degree. When you destroy something you destroy a piece of yourself. It is impossible to separate yourself from the consequence of any action you take. No conflict can end well for ones self because all actions are taken for or against ones self. At one point we were all fiery energetic particles phasing in and out of existence freely interacting and transforming amongst themselves in a single dense point; at a moment where the very laws of reality where being bent and contorted. At this moment we were one. We are all connected to each other biologically, to the earth chemically, and to universe atomicallyiii. The particles that comprise our material form can be traced to the crucibles for the birth of our universe. The universe exists within us; all our knowing is but a way for this universe to know itself. All actions taken are done so towards ones self. So why would one ever be violent once aware of these truths?

Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and

gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.
The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together.

The very nature of

these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal
brotherhood, for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout
the world millions of despairing men, women and little children

victims of a

system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people. To those who can hear me, I say

do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed the
will pass, and

bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men dictators

die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people and so long as men

die, liberty will never perish. You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. Let us fight to

free the world, to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed,

with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a

world of reason, a world where

science and progress will lead to all men's happiness.

Soldiers! In the name of - Charlie Chalpin Not only do I believe a utopian society where we have eliminated the need for violence is possible, but it is inevitable through the exponential progress of technologies that serve to interconnect consciousness around the world.

democracy, let us all unite!

I have set the stage. I have provided the arguments for a future world of interconnectedness. What does this mean for you and me? The answers are numerous as well as sophisticated and if I did have an answer I would challenge you to be skeptic of it. We live in an insane world that is changing nearly as fast as it is hurtling through space and in it there seems to be no certainty. At this critical point in our society we have the rare opportunity as members of the human race to actively shape the future of our specie. With this powerful emergent property of interconnectedness we have the never before known ability to

choose freely as individuals what we do as a whole. With this new found power come the devices for the few to reach out and take from the many but more importantly with it comes the ability for the many to give to the few! No longer are you blind to the starvation and thirst of innocent children. No longer am I blind to the torture, oppression, and manipulation of my fellow man. Now, in the time you live in, you have the unique ability to empathize with your brothers and sisters in humanity. You have within your grasp the power reach out and lend them your thoughts, voice, and compassion. So in this concluding statement I would neither like to beg you nor demand of you to do anything other than partake in the development of a system in accordance with what you know to be right. This is a principle, which every man of every faith is able to embrace. Help those in need. Live a life of compassion, love, and dignity. Become educated so that you might know what is true. Do not be indifferent for indifference is the opposite of love. With this connectedness the whole world is now at your fingertips and you can have your input. Embrace the internet and all the social media it enables and will continue to enable through our advanced technologies. Post your dissent. Voice your concern. State what you believe to be true. Log on to your evolution.

Your humble friend, Duhe
