FLYWHEEL
Flywheel and governor are devices to control the speed variation in an engine. The difference being that flywheel redistributes the energy within in a cycle of control speed while the governor controls the amount of fuel supplied to an engine to match the load requirement to maintain a specified speed. Flywheels are mechanical device which is used to store energy and distribute it when needed. It is also used to smoothen power transmission where energy input or output are varying.
