Then Jesus sat down, called the Twelve, and said to them, If

anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.

Servant Leadership: Delegates, Supports, Emerges from anywhere, Accesses power for the interest of the team and Gives glory to God and credit to others.
The servant leader serves the people he/she leads. Servant leadership is meant to replace command and control models of leadership, to be more focused on the needs of others by having a spiritual understanding of identity, mission, vision and environment. Parish Social Ministry is the empowerment of the parishioners to participate in the mission of the Roman Catholic Church by responding in an organized and communal way to human needs. The response ranges from direct service to social action. Having a spiritual understanding is being aware that Parish Social Ministry is being guided by the Holy Spirit in identity, mission, vision and environment.

Faithful servant leaders are: Reverent believing in God Confident believing in yourself Trustworthy acting in honest ways Open-minded - showing that you believe in new possibilities Humble acting in unselfish ways to show that you believe in others

Servant leaders are hopeful: Passionate totally committed to the mission and values Visionary looking at the future, implication of todays issues Creative - thinking outside of the box Enthusiastic bringing energy to the whole team Persistent being dedicated to the long haul

Servant leaders have Agape (unconditional) Love: Thoughtful pay attention to the needs of others

Helpful - providing resources and support to others Collaborative Working hand and hand with others Forgiving letting go of mistakes of others Patient taking time to support the growth of others

Servant leadership was developed by Robert K. Greenleaf in 1970. (Although one could say that Jesus is the true Servant Leader).
