GPIO Manipulation
If any of PIO8,9,10,11 are driven as output, they are all set to output and remain outputs until a power
cycle. There is no powerup command for the upper four bits.
The bits below can be ANDed to manipulate multiple bits simultaneously.
The lower four bits must be configured as outputs or they will not drive the line, they will only activate
weak pullups.

Displaying Device Friendly Name without MAC suffix

If the Bluetooth modem has a Friendly Name set with 'S-,name' the name will be displayed in
discovery with the last four characters of the MAC address appended to the name. If only a Device
name is set with 'SN,name' then that name will be displayed without the the last four characters of the
MAC address displayed.
To clear the Friendly name so the last four characters of the MAC address do not display, complete the
following steps in the same order:
Clean the friendly name with
s-,<CR>
Set the device name
sn,<name 20 char max><CR>
Reboot the Bluetooth modem with
r,1
Unpair and re-pair and the name should be that of the device name without the MAC suffix

Factory Reset Procedure

If the modem becomes mis-configured and it cant be wirelessly connected or configured, it can be
manually reset to the factory settings by performing the following procedure:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

Disconnect power and external connections

Connect a jumper between FACT-RST and 3.3V
Power up the Daisy via any of the power sources
While powered, remove and reconnect one end of the jumper 3 times
The LED should blink a few times on the third connection signaling a factory reset
Perform any necessary initialization
