This week I learn the concepts of performing effective active reading, concentrating when reading and studying, reading comprehension strategies, effective note taking, and rehersal of strategies. The MyFoundation Lab explain the importance of creating strategies to promote active reading, (preview, marking, reading with concentration, and reviewing). The lab define all key techniques, definition of concepts, and the importance of creating an environment that can be use to promote understanding. I believe my outcome of this reading was successful, it has taught me the importance of addressing my learning style, creating effective techniques, and developing strategies to improve learning difficulities.

I learn how to identify primary reading soruces, effective reading strategies, and how to comprehend the reading materials. When identifying primary sources it ensures the information that you are learning is accurate and is base upon empirical data. How to comprehend the reading materials teach me how to apply active reading with preview, marking, reading with concentration and reviewing.Thess skills will ensure a successful academic journey and learning with understanding. These skills are useful to the professional world when learning new materials on the job, effective communication, and developing goals to complete a task. Applying these techniques to both areas allow me to be more assertive in all reas of my life.

Describe the reading and comprehension strategies you will employ. How will these help make you a more effective reader? I believe the step that I will benefit from is "Marking the Text". When I mark the text it allow me to revisit any information that I may have forgotten or need clarity to complete an assignment. I can easily navigate back to the materials to help me better engaged into the topic. By creating a study area, I am allowing myself the focus that is necessary to comprend the information and to be able to read with concentration. I also believe developing all the strategies will promote forcus and comprehension, promote greater understanding, and eliminate forgetting what you have recently read.

What is primary source material? Explain why knowing how to identify and use primary source materials is important for academic reading and writing. Primary sources materials is an orginal object or document information conducted by reaseach and are the empirical data thath provide accurate information. When conducting research identifying primary soruces ensures the arthentic of your academic reading and writing.Primary sources can be identify by the format of the information. When the information is place into sections of methods, results and discussion, the article will include bibliographic citation and a works cited section at the end. An abstract
