Overall Aims of the Course

This course is about the understanding of functions and operations of modern winding machines, yarn clearers, compressed air requirement, yarn conditioning, yarn doubling and twisting, and the steam and compressed air required to accomplish the tasks of winding, yarn clearing, yarn doubling and twisting and yarn conditioning. .

-Ability to present the process control -Ability to communicate the methods adopted to solve the problems and to present the final solution Intended Learning Outcomes At the end of this week, the students will be able to: State the objectives of winding. Tell about the winding speeds. Tell about the wind and angle of wind. Explain the traverse ratio. Distinguish among various types of packages and windings.

AutoWinding

Calculate the package density. Explain the use of various package densities. Explain different types of yarn withdrawals. List the merits and demerits of various types of yarn withdrawals. Describe and calculate the cone angle and its use. Describe the types of winders and their use. Describe the change places on yarn winding machine.

Auto-` Winding

Identify different parts of the winding machine. Describe winding techniques. Explain the terms modulations and gain. Explain how the uniform increase in cone diameter is achieved.

AutoWinding

Explain the types and working of adapters. Describe the function of adapters. Explain the reasons of ribboning and its control.

Classify types of grooved drums and describe their use. Describe the working of suction nozzles for package yarn. Explain the working of yarn length measurement systems.
