Plan Support Office Multan Program The Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating Research, Monitoring and Evaluation activities and processes relating to the EiE project. Make efficient and effective use of suitable methodologies, tools and techniques to support better project planning, monitoring and evaluation. What does the jobholder plan? Role Reporting to Duty Station Staff Category Job Purpose Contributes to the annual Research, Monitoring and Evaluation budgets, the annual reflection and the strategic planning process. In-country Planning, Monitoring and Network/Staff. Project Management Team Country Office Project areas and existing program units Children, their families and communities. Plan Pakistan Partners. Local and central government officials. Local and National agencies and networks. Evaluation

What are the outputs and deliverables? Coordinate in the Design and development of result based monitoring and evaluations strategy and systems for the project that are inline with Plans corporate planning, monitoring and evaluation systems. Facilitate and carry out project related research as required by the project processes and priorities. Prepare research, monitoring and evaluations plans and ensure implementation at field level. If needed, provide input to the development of project communication material such as briefs, stories, press releases etc Review information, collected through the monitoring process and identify need for changes (if any). Coordinate in the capacity building of project staff and partners on participatory monitoring and evaluation. Promote monitoring and evaluation systems, capacity building and sharing experience/learning. Work with and advise the project management team to enhance learning from and between partner program monitoring and evaluations. Assist project team and partners to plan, review, reflect, learn and re-appraise their work. Documentation of lessons learned and best practices relating to the project. Generate quality monitoring and project progress reports as and when desired by the project management. Facilitate recruitment process for consultants and contractual staff. Always bear in mind value for money considerations and opportunities in all decisions and current practices. Always adhere to the Plan Pakistan Human Resource Policies and procedures. Forward sick leave and vacation forms to the supervisor in good time. Document vehicle use as per the Plan Pakistans Operations Manual. Ensure timely follow up of all visit reports (such as audits, control visits). Use computers only in accordance with Plan Pakistans IS&T Guidelines. Understand and commit to Plans Vision and Mission Statement. Enforce or bring into practice gender / equity related policies. Complete additional assignments related to job functions requested and acknowledged by Plan management.

Demonstrate competency with a broad range of relevant computer software programs including word-processing, spreadsheet, database and statistical packages) High standard of verbal and written English and Urdu. Criteria for Success Technical precision and relevance, monitoring, evaluation and research data/knowledge/recommendations. Utilization of monitoring, evaluation and research data, knowledge, recommendations in programme design, review and corrective action. Publication of research/evaluations as an advocacy strategy and support for the knowledge management system. Identifies best practices and inherent knowledge for documentation and publication within Plans programme information system.

Qualifications and Experience Advanced University Degree (Masters or equivalent) in Economics, Project Management or Social Sciences. At least 4 to 5 years of experience in managing research, monitoring and evaluation in a development organization. Work experience with community groups, childrens clubs, youth organizations, CBOs, NGOs including experience of facilitation and capacity building.

Changes/Challenges Establish priority and focus amidst multiple demands. Ensure that reviews and evaluations are internalised to programme practices. Work effectively under pressure to meet multiple deadlines. Lack of clarity and ambiguity in scope of work.
