Ces services requirent un abonnement auprs de votre compagnie de tlphone locale et peuvent ne pas tre disponibles dans votre rgion. Lorsque les services sont disponibles, votre tlphone affichera toujours le numro de tlphone et le nom de lappelant avant que vous rpondiez au tlphone, vous permettant de filtrer vos appels. En plus des services de lafficheur, si vous tes galement abonn au service de la messagerie vocale auprs de votre compagnie de tlphone locale, les voyants de message en attente vous indiqueront quun nouveau message est prsent dans la bote vocale.

Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your new telephone. It has been manufactured to very high quality standards for convenient and reliable service. This telephone can be used with Call Identification (Caller ID) Service and/or Call Waiting Caller ID Service that is provided by your local telephone company. There is a fee for these services by your local telephone company, and they may not be available in all areas. When used with these services, your telephone displays the telephone number or the telephone number and name of each caller before you answer the call allowing you to screen your calls. In addition to Caller ID services, if you subscribe to voice mail services from your local telephone company, voice mail waiting indicators will inform you that there is a message waiting in your voice mailbox.

Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not place this product where the cord will be abused by persons walking on it. Do not attach the power cord to building surfaces. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in the risk of fire or electric shock. Never push any objects into this product through cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product. If this product does not operate normally, see the In Case of Difficulty section in this owners manual. If you cannot resolve the problem, or if the product is damaged, refer to the Limited Warranty section of this owners manual. Opening the product or reassembling it incorrectly may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks, and will void the warranty. Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions: (a) When the power supply cord or plug is damaged or frayed. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions. (e) If the product has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged. Installation
Installation 1. Insrez une extrmit du cordon tlphonique plat dans la prise portant linscription TEL.LINE ( la ligne tlphonique) du socle et lautre extrmit, dans votre prise modulaire murale.

Raccordez ladaptateur CA dans une prise lectrique et lautre extrmit dans la prise DC 9V (9 V CC) situe sous le socle du tlphone. Nutilisez lappareil quavec une source dalimentation polarise de classe 2 de 9 V CC. 300 mA dote dun adaptateur secteur CA/CC. Remarque importante : Un adaptateur CA est ncessaire pour alimenter cet appareil. Si vous dsirez conserver la mmoire et le fonctionnement de lafficheur pendant une panne lectrique, vous pouvez y installer trois piles de type AA(non incluses) lintrieur du combin, qui agiront comme source dalimentation de sauvegarde. Si vous installez les piles, assurez-vous de respecter la polarit, tel quinscrit sur le diagramme (les signes plus ou moins) situ lintrieur du compartiment des piles. Avertissement : Cet appareil nest pas conu pour fonctionner avec des piles rechargeables. Ne les utilisez pas.

Installation 1. Plug one end of the flat telephone line cord into the line jack on the back of the phone where it is labeled TEL.LINE and plug the other end into your modular telephone wall jack.

2. Connect the AC adapter to an electrical wall outlet and then connect the AC adapter plug to the DC 9V jack on the back of the phone. Use only with a Class 2 power source, plug polarity, 9V DC, AC adapter. Important Note: An AC adapter is used to power this unit. If you want to maintain full operation of phone during AC power failure, you may also install 3AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment as a backup power source. If you install batteries, be sure to install them correctly by following the polarity diagram (plus and minus signs) on the inside of the battery compartment. Warning: This unit is not designed to work with rechargeable batteries. Do not use them. 3. Connect one end of the coiled Handset Cord to the jack on the left side of the phone and connect the other end of the coiled Handset Cord to the jack on the handset If you wish to use an Answering Machine, Modem, Fax Machine or other devices along with your Caller ID telephone, you may

plug one of these devices into the DATA jack on the right side of the phone. The important thing to remember is that for the Caller ID features to work properly the Caller ID telephone must be plugged directly into the wall jack and other devices must be plugged into the Caller ID phone. 5. Selecting a language When the phone is powered up for the first time, the display flashes SELECT LANUGAGE and >ENG ESP FRA. To select English, press the 1 button. To select Spanish, press the 2 button. To select French, press the 3 button. Then, press the Dial/Enter button to confirm the selection. 6. Program your area code (A) After selecting the language, the display flashes ENTER AREA CODE and 7 DIGITS DIAL. (B) If you dial your local calls using 7 digits (e.g., 555-1212), then enter your local area code, press the Dial/Enter button, and go to Step C. If you dial your local calls using 10 digits (e.g., 303-555-1212), then enter 000 as the area code for 7 digits dial, and press the Dial/Enter button to go to Step C. (C) The display flashes ENTER AREA CODE and 10 DIGITS DIAL.

Remarque : La programmation de votre indicatif rgional vous permettra de composer facilement les numros de votre rpertoire de lafficheur. Pour plus de dtails sur la composition dun numro dans le rpertoire de lafficheur. Retournez le tlphone afin que lenvers soit face vous. Insrez les onglets. Pour installer le tlphone au mur, vous devez renverser longlet sur le socle du tlphone. Insrez les languettes lextrmit mince du support mural dans les trous situs sous le tlphone, larrire. Appuyez et verrouillez les languettes lextrmit plus paisse du support mural dans les trous situs lextrmit avant du tlphone. Larrire du tlphone devrait alors comporter deux trous de plastique ronds pouvant servir accrocher votre tlphone au mur. Utilisez les deux trous ronds pour fixer le tlphone au support sur votre mur. Remarque importante : Si vous ne dsirez pas installer votre tlphone au mur, le support mural peut tre retourn afin de soulever langle de lafficheur du tlphone lorsque celui-ci est dpos sur une table ou un bureau.

Enter the area code(s) for numbers that you dial using ten digits (e.g., 514-555-1234). You can store up to three area codes for ten-digit dialing. Press Dial/Enter when you are done. If there is no number you dial using ten digits, then press Dial/Enter. 7. Press the Menu or Save button to save these operating settings and to exit the menu mode. After installation, lift the telephones Handset and listen for the dial tone. If there is no dial tone, check to make sure all cords are firmly plugged into their jacks. Note: Programming your area code will allow you to easily dial numbers that are in your Caller ID list. See the Section Calling Back a Number from the Caller ID List for more information on dialing calls from your Caller ID list.

Wall Mounting
1. Turn the phone over so that you are looking at the bottom of the phone. Insert tabs at the thin end of the wall mount bracket into the holes at the rear of the phone bottom. Press and latch the tabs at the thicker end of the wall bracket into holes at the front end of phone. The back of the phone should then have two round plastic holes that can be used to hang your phone on the wall. Use the two round holes to hang the phone on the wall plate on your wall. Important Note: If you do not wish to mount your phone on the wall, the Wall Mount Bracket can be reversed to REMARQUE raise the angle of the phones display when sitting on a table or desk.

Receiving a Call
1. 2. When you hear the phone ring, simply pick up the handset from the handset cradle. You may also press the Speaker button to answer the call using the speakerphone. When you are finished talking, replace the handset in the handset cradle to end the call. If you have been talking using the speakerphone, press the Speaker button to hang up. You may also press the Goodbye button to hang up at any time.

Redialing
You can redial the last number you called with just one touch of the Redial button. This lets you easily redial the same number again if the line was busy. 1. 2. Pick up the handset or press the Speaker button and listen for a dial tone. Press the Redial button and the last number you dialed will be shown on the display and will be automatically dialed.

Muting a Call
In addition to putting a call on hold, muting a call is a good way to mute the phone so that the person on the other end of the line will not hear what you are saying. You can continue to hear the person on the other end. 1. Press the Mute button to mute the call. While a call is muted, the Speaker light will blink. 2. To release the mute, press the Mute button again and you will be able to continue the conversation. Do not hang up the phone while a call is muted or the call will be disconnected.

Pour entrer un caractre nouveau, appuyez sur la touche ou pour dplacer le curseur vers le caractre que vous dsirez modifier. 11. Aprs avoir entr tous les caractres, appuyez sur la touche SAVE pour sauvegarder le numro/nom correspondant la touche de composition abrge.

If the pre-programmed access codes do not work, you can begin to re-program them by pressing the Save button and follow the procedures in the Storing a New Number and Name in the Memory Buttons section. If you subscribe to call forwarding services from your local telephone company, you can program a memory button to forward incoming calls to another number by pressing the Call Forward On once. 1. Press the Save button when the display shows no callers number or name. The SAVE TO? prompt appears on the display. 2. Press the Call Forward On button. The ENTER NUMBER> prompt appears on the display. 3. Use the keypad to enter *73 to deactivate call forwarding to another number if any. (Note: * is displayed as A on the screen.) 4. We suggest entering 3 pauses (P) before entering Call Forwarding activation code *72. Next, enter 3 pauses (P) before entering the call forwarded number. 5. We suggest entering 3 pauses (P) before entering Goodbye (b). 6. Press the Save button. 7. You can enter a name for this forward to number, e.g., TO MOBILE. 8. Press the Save button to save this dialing sequence into the Call Forward On button. When you have to leave your home or your office in a hurry, press the Call Forward On button once. This will activate the speakerphone, dial the entire call forwarding sequence, and deactivate the speakerphone automatically. The Call Forward Off button is preprogrammed with access code *73PPb. Press this button once to deactivate call forwarding. You can re-program this button if you need a different access code to deactivate call forwarding.

Caller ID
Caller ID Service and Call Waiting Caller ID Service
The caller identification service (Caller ID) allows the callers phone number and/or name to be shown on the display as the call comes in before you pick up the phone. In order to use this feature, YOU MUST FIRST SUBSCRIBE TO THE CALLER ID SERVICE provided by your local telephone company. The name of this service may vary depending on your telephone company. Before using this feature, please make sure you have properly entered your area code as explained in the Programming Your Area Code step of the Introduction section of this manual. Important Note: When a new call comes in, you must let your phone ring at least 2 full times in order for the Caller ID information to be displayed. The Call Waiting Caller ID service allows the phone number and/ or name of a waiting caller to be shown during a telephone conversation. To use this feature, YOU MUST FIRST SUBSCRIBE TO CALL WAITING CALLER ID SERVICE with your local telephone company. The name of this service may vary depending on your telephone company.
Caller ID Display
When you receive a call, the phone number appears on the display with the day and time the call was received and is then stored in the Call Memory as shown. If your Caller ID service includes the callers name, then the callers name also appears on the display (up to 15 letters) as shown.

The date and time information is received from your telephone company. If the call came from a different time zone, it will still show the time in your area. There is a synchronized real-time clock on the display when the telephone is not in use. The total number of calls that are saved in the Call Memory is displayed after the # symbol when a call is received. Each call is assigned a call number. The most recent call has the highest number (e.g.#99) and the oldest call has the smallest number (e.g. #1). The phone number of a waiting caller is also registered into the Call Memory as another call.

When you get to the last call stored in the Call Memory, then the END OF RECORD message will appear on the display. If the screen indicates END OF RECORD, press the button and the screen will display the first record in the Call Memory. If you press the button, the screen will display the last record in the Call Memory. Important Note: The telephones buttons will not work while the phone is ringing, or for a few seconds afterward.

The In Use indicator is lit steadily when any telephone on the same line is in use.
Message Indication
The Message indicator flashes to indicate a message(s) is in your local telephone companys voice mailbox, if you subscribe to voice mailbox services and your local telephone company delivers a Visual Voice Message Waiting Indication Signal.

Resetting Your Telephones Programming
Electrostatic or power surge (e.g., from lightning) may cause the phone to lock up. There are two ways to reset this phone. 1. Basic reset Disconnect the telephone line cord from the phone. Disconnect the AC adapter from the phone. If back up batteries are installed, remove one of them. Press the button or the button two times. Wait for 10 seconds; Reconnect the telephone line cord and the AC adapter to the phone. Follow the installation procedures to select the language and to enter the area codes. Re-install back up batteries. Full reset If the basic reset cannot return the phone to the normal operating condition, you must do a full reset. All information stored in memory will be erased during a full reset. Disconnect the telephone line cord from the phone. Disconnect the AC adapter from the phone. If back up batteries are installed, remove one of them. Press the button or the button two times. Wait for 10 seconds. Press and hold the DELETE and buttons when reconnecting the AC adapter to the phone. Reconnect the telephone line cord. Follow the Installation procedures to select the language and to enter the area codes. Re-install back up batteries.

Lappareil reoit les donnes de lappelant entre la premire et la deuxime sonnerie. Si lappelant raccroche avant la deuxime sonnerie, les donnes de lappelant peuvent ne pas apparatre lafficheur. Si vous tes abonns au service du renvoi dappel et que vous appels sont transfrs, les donnes de lappelant napparatront pas lafficheur. Les appels transfrs au moyen du service de renvoi dappels sont renvoys avant la seconde sonnerie. Vous devrez annuler cette fonction pour vous prvaloir de lafficheur des donnes de lappelant. Although your unit is designed to be maintenance free, it contains sensitive electronic parts. Treat it with care to assure the best performance. Avoid Rough Treatment: Avoid dropping the unit. The original packaging should be used for protection if you must ship the unit. Dropping or damaging the unit will void the warranty. Cleaning: The hard plastic casing on your unit has a durable finish that should retain its original luster for many years. Clean exposed parts with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Troubleshooting
If your product does not work properly, try the following suggestions before seeking repair assistance: Check all line cord connections at the wall jack and at the telephone. Caller Identification is a subscription service. Non-subscribers of this service cannot receive caller identification information. Make sure that the telephone company has activated your service. The telephone receives call information between the first and second ring. If the caller hangs up or you answer before the second ring, the telephone may not receive the call Identification information. If you have Call Forwarding Service and your calls are forwarded, the telephone will not receive the callers information. Calls forwarded using a call forwarding service are typically forwarded before completing the second ring. To receive a callers information, turn off the Call Forwarding feature.
