SPELLING BEE

Mechanics:
1. Each group shall be composed of 3 members and is given an illustration board, chalk and eraser to be used in spelling the words. 2. There will be 7 words for each level of difficulty easy, average, and difficult. The scoring system will be as follows: Easy Round equivalent to 2 points Average Round equivalent to 3 points Difficult Round equivalent to 5 points 3. Each word shall be announced and used in a sentence by the quizmaster twice. Participants need to wait for the quizmaster to say GO before they can start writing their answers. 4. A time limit shall be allotted on spelling words in different levels. Easy Round 10 seconds Average Round 15 seconds Difficult Round 20 seconds 5. A bell shall be triggered when the allotted time has elapsed. Upon hearing the bell, participants shall need to raise their boards. The participants answer may become invalid in the event that they failed to raise their board upon hearing the bell. 6. The quizmaster shall summarize the scores after every round. 7. The champion shall be declared after tabulation of points for all three levels. 8. In case of a tie, a sudden elimination round shall be conducted. The quizmaster shall give a word that needs to be spelled. The first group to get a point advantage shall be declared as the champion.
