ABSTRAK BENTUK ADVERBIA WAKTU BAHASA INGGRIS DAN TERJEMAHANNYA KE DALAM BAHASA INDONESIA
Thesis ini berjudul Bentuk-bentuk Adverbia waktu dalam Bahasa Inggris dan Terjemahannya dalam Bahasa Indonesia pada novel Twilight. Topik ini dipilih karena bentuk adverbia dipergunakan baik dalam bahasa Inggris maupun bahasa Indonesia. Dalam menerjemahkan, tidak semua kalimat keterangan waktu pada bahasa sumber dapat diterjemahkan ke dalam bentuk adverbia waktu bahasa target. Ada pula kalimat adverbial waktu yang diterjemahkan ke dalam bentuk adverbial cara untuk mempertahankan pesan yang ingin disampaikan. Teori-teori yang digunakan adalah: metodologi penerjemahan oleh Vinay dan Darbelnet, jenis dan fungsi bentuk-bentuk adverbial waktu dalam bahasa Indonesia oleh Hasan Alwi dkk. Teori mengenai adverbial waktu dalam bahasa Inggris oleh Randolph Quirk, teori equivalence oleh Larson. Dalam menganalisa data, kedua novel dibaca dengan seksama, kemudian mengidentifikasi dan mencatat kalimat adverbial waktu dalam bahasa Inggris dan terjemahannya ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Setelah itu data yang telah dikumpulkan, diklasifikasikan berdasarkan pada permasalahan yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini. Terakhir data disajikan dengan terlebih dahulu menunjukkan bentuk adverbial waktu dalam bahasa sumber dan diikuti oleh terjemahannya dalam bahasa target. Temuan dari analisis menunjukkan bahwa, bentuk adverbial waktu yang ditemukan dalam novel berjudul Twilight ada 4 bentuk yaitu: Adverbia waktu dengan bentuk kata benda, Adverbia waktu dengan kerja, adverbial waktu dengan kata depan, adverbial waktu dengan klausa. Arti dari adverbial waktu yang ditemukan dalam novel Twilight menunjukan : waktu, durasi, frekwensi, dan hubungan waktu. Dalam metodolgi penerjemahan yang dipakai oleh penerjemah sebagian besar menggunakan bentuk literal, modulasi, transposisi, dan ekuivalen. Ekuivalen baik secara formal dan dinamika dipergunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menterjemahkan novel kedalam bahasa target. Kata kunci: penerjemahan, adverbial waktu , ekuivalen

ABSTRACT ENGLISH ADVERBIALS OF TIME AND THEIR TRANSLATIONS IN INDONESIAN

This thesis is entitled English Time Adverbial and Their Translation into Indonesiafound in Novel Twilight. The reason why this topic is discussed is that Adverbial of time is commonly used both in Indonesian and in English. In translating Adverbial of time from source language into target language, not all can retained as Adverbial of time. There are also adverbial of time translated into adverbial of manner in order to maintain the message and to keep the naturalness of the target language. The theories used in this study are: methodology of translation by Vinay and Darbelnet, types and functions of Indonesian time adverbial by Hasan Alwi dkk., Dr. the theory of English Time adverbial by Randolph Quirk, the theory of equivalence by Larson is used to discuss about equivalence occur in adverbial of time from SL into TL. In analyzing the data both of the novels are read carefully and then followed by identifying and note taking the English time adverbial and their translation into Indonesia, after that the collected data were classified based on the problem being discussed in this study. Finally the data were presented by firstly showing the formed of time adverbial in the SL followed by its translation in the TL. The findings of the analysis show that, The formed of adverbials time found in the novel entitled Twilight are: Adverbials of time formed by Noun Phrase, Adverbials of time formed by Adverb Phrase, Adverbials of time formed by Prepositional Phrase and Adverbials of time formed by Clause. The functions of the Adverbials of time found in the novel entitled Twilight: Adverbials of time function to state point of time, Adverbials of time function to state frequency, Adverbials of time function to state duration, Adverbials of time function to state relationship in time In terms of the translation, to translate the English adverbials of time into Indonesian, mostly the translator uses the literal, modulation, transposition, and equivalence procedures. From the equivalent point of view there are found both of formal and dynamic equivalent that is used in the translation. key word: translation, Adverbial of time, equivalence
