Formed in 1990 to assist universities from the former communist countries to transition to socially responsible and proactive roles in democratic society, AUDEM now focuses on the integration of universities at competitive levels into the world academic communities. With the launching of this journal, AUDEM adds another tool in its effort to expand opportunities for international collaboration in higher education and to promote the role of higher education in social and civic development. Looking to publish essays from any field that speak to the many and complex dimensions of this process, the journal is, like AUDEM itself, open to all universities, their administrators at all levels, and scholars from all disciplines in the liberal arts and technical fields. Given its interdisciplinary nature, the journal seeks a wide range of theoretical and conceptual articles, positional and empirical articles, and book reviews that focus on higher education and democracy. At Gonzaga University, Lazarina N. Topuzova and Adrian B. Popa are both Assistant Professors of Organizational Leadership. Click on image to enlarge
