Reflection Paper A mother, sister, friend, niece, daughter, and children how much and how do you value

e them? When it all comes down to endless love, we cannot narrow down women in society; from being a mother to growing number of children, a sister who is always there to listen, a friend who cheers you up, a niece who makes you laugh, a daughter who weeps out all the stress and pain, and children whom you can count on. How exactly women are nowadays valued? Every day, we encounter different types of women. It is painful to see that after all the hard work and sacrifices these women in society are risking, they are still being undermined as if they were created to serve as shock absorber of discrimination, punching bag to those soulless people and worse is that not only are they hurt, they are being killed without conscience or if not they are being deprived of their dignity which is like killing them.

As a youth, it is alarming to see my fellow young girls and women being degraded, discriminated, battered and killed. As much as justice for these victims age is the hidden truth that victims are strained down to many cases of violence against women, especially the youth.

There is a growing number of violence against women nowadays. More that it is mostly seen in places where people are vulnerable and where people, especially the women and their children are supposed to be protected and not aggravated I am from a province; much more is that I am from the mountains of Cordillera. I felt the fear of violence against women inflict in our place. It is disappointing, though, that I for myself is not aware of how my fellow youth, womwn and children are being treated. It almost degraded me that as a youth, at an early age, I am not that aware and keen on whats happening in our region. Giving a focus to women, including their children, especially those indigenous people who are undermined by those with power and uniform; this gives us a glimpse of the sad reality which people kept on disregarding. The indigenous people represent a minority less heard. The weighing scale of our society is thus not balance between the indigenous people bound with cultures and those in the urban places who are ill-cultured. This is, indeed, a proof that not only oppression is being inflicted but rather Hearing the status of our region from the main speaker of the day does ring a bell. It is disappointing to know that our supposed to be protectors are now protecting themselves from facing what they have done. It is unjustifiable for them to take advantage of the minorities and

much more are the minors those human beings that has been shattered. One cannot bring back something that is lost and worse one may not be able to recover from it.

Lastly, though I was not able to finish the forum, one thing is for sure, that this be the beginning that I stand for the truth, that
