Evacuation Procedures A-B-S What to do before you leave your class if students are injured:
Search & Rescue Sweep Assignments Team 1: Administration, K1, K2, Head Start, 21, 22, 19, 17, 18, 20 & Kinder Bathrooms Team 2: 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 23, 24 & Primary Bathrooms Team 3: 2, 4, Library, 29, 28, 27, 31, 30, 10(science), 12, 14, 16, 25, 26 & Upper Grade Bathrooms
Located at Command Central, near the Emergency Assembly Area (EAA) and the Student Check-out Area 1. Accounts for the presence of all. 2. Implements and coordinates the Emergency operations. 3. Controls internal and external communications. 4. Prepares reports for District Emergency Command Center.
Located in Command Central & School Campus 1. Lock all external gates and secure school ASAPincluding MPR doors Survey and report to Command Central the extent of damage to school site. Check utilities and take appropriate action to minimize damage to school site Close gas lines and water if necessary. Get supplies from container to Medical/ First Aid Area/ EAA.
6. Determine resources that are available for immediate school use: water. food, power, radio, telephones, and sanitary conditions. 7. Set up tarps and student restroom areas. 8. Route fire and rescue ambulance and police to area of need. 9. Post signs at gates telling procedures for reunion. 10. Report to Reunion Gate to greet parents, calm crowd, and maintain order (use megaphone if necessary)
Located in Command Central 1. Follow Disaster Communication procedures 2. Keep in communication with District Emergency team 3. Check with DC for student accountabilities 4. After attendance is taken, and Search & Rescue is completed, immediately begin to reunite students with parents. 5. Dispatch runners to get students to escort them to reunion gate 6. Ensure student is released only to those authorized on the release forms. Confirm that the student recognizes the individual and feels secure. 7. Have parent/guardian/adult listed on form sign out student as they are released, ensure you can read name in case a 2nd parent arrives for the same child. 8. Collect student labels and place in grade level box, if assistants are available, have labels in ABC order.
