Code of Conduct Geography China trip 2013

These guidelines will help us all to have an enjoyable and safe time whilst we are on the trip. Students and parents: please read and sign.
Remember that you are on an educational visit and are a member of a school group. You are representing not only the Radyr Comprehensive but Wales and the UK!! Respect and support one another throughout the trip. Look after yourself and watch out for others in your group. You are responsible for the safe keeping of your valuables and money. Its best to withdraw small amounts from the Trip Bank just in case it gets lost. Any unsocial behaviour will reflect on each of us as individuals, the group and the whole school, so think about how you are behaving. Clearly we cannot be with students at all times and we rely on you not to abuse your free time. Drug or alcohol use, or a breach of any aspect of this Code of Conduct will be counted as serious misconduct, and you run the risk of being sent home at parental expense, followed by serious disciplinary measures on our return to school. Students will not be allowed to smoke cigarettes at any point on the trip. Stay safe: sensible behaviour is usually safe behaviour Personal safety is very important stay in groups of four or pairs as directed by the staff and DO NOT GO OFF ALONE Do not go off with someone you do not know or who has not properly been introduced to you, even if that person seems very charming. Do not get into anyones car you do not know. Keep your wits about you and watch where you are walking and who is around. Do not get separated from the main group keep up. When we get back on the coach we need to do so as a group quickly. At AIRPORTS do not wander off to the toilet or to the shops wait for the group to be gathered first, ensure you have a travel buddy to help oversee baggage safely and we will then use the facilities in an organised way as a group. Use public facilities, such as toilets, in pairs. Listen to and follow instructions immediately without question at the time. It may be very important for you to do what you are asked at the time, and you may not always be aware of the reasons. Individual instructions will be given at the start of each day; listen and note what you have to do and when!! e.g. meet at 8am in the foyer at The Jiangnan Hotel.

Once you are in an airport, hotel, coach, train or venue and have checked in with staff, you must on no account leave the area without permission from a member of staff. If in any doubt DO NOT DRINK THE WATER. Never drink water straight from the tap: BUY mineral water, or drink the boiled water that is usually readily available. Avoid drinks with ice. If you regularly take medication dont forget to take it. Your group leader will remind you. Wash your hands before meals. Use an antibacterial hand wash whilst travelling, or on your return to the coach. Avoid touching dogs, cats or any other animal. Inform a member of staff if you are concerned, or if you are bitten or scratched. The country may seem different to you, but use your own judgement. If you become uneasy about anything or feel unwell contact your group leader, or any member of staff immediately yourself by phone or mobile. It does not matter what time it is. A false alarm is better than finding that a problem has developed.
