CISV educates and inspires action for a more just and peaceful world.

We do this through a variety of programs to develop participants skills as a peacemaker, leader, friend, family member, and global citizen. CISV PROGRAMS FOR 2013 Age of Child Ages 11-25 11 year olds Program Name Junior Branch Village Location Jacksonville New York Trento, Italy FACES of Jacksonville Lisbon, Portugal San Jose, Costa Rica Lima, Peru Washington, DC Chattanooga, TN Philadelphia, PA (male) Norway (female) El Salvador See above PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
VILLAGE: The Village program is a four-week international camp. Each delegation consists of two boys and two girls and one adult leader representing 12 nations. In addition, four Staff and six international Junior Counselors (age 16-17) participate in this multicultural camp featuring a mix of educational, cultural and sport activities, which emphasize cooperative living. YOUTH MEETING: The short regional camps feature, individual themes that allow young people to explore intercultural issues in a regional context. The program reinforces core CISV values, builds leadership and organizational skills. Each delegation will include three boys and three girls (age 12-13) and one adult leader. INTERCHANGE: The Interchange program is a bilateral, family centered exchange between two international CISV chapters. Our delegation will consist of three girls and three boys (age 12-13), plus an adult leader. They will reciprocally host a partner of the same age and gender with similar interests for two weeks. This program encourages a deeper understanding of another culture by enabling young people to live as family members. Group activities involving both delegations are a vital component of the Interchange program. SUMMER CAMP: The Summer Camp is a three-week international camp for delegations of four youth and one adult leader. Our delegates must be age 14. The program is very similar to the Village concept, but is structured to allow youth to have a greater role in planning activities, and is aimed at slightly older children. This is a multi-cultural camp, which develops a particular theme through international activities and discussions. The emphasis is on youth leadership through adult facilitation.
