What were learning
Our Bible stories for this week are The Parable of the Rich Man and Poor Lazarus and The Rich Young Man. We will be reading Rose and Grandma Make the Sun Shine and Our Family Get-Together in our basal reading books. In phonics we are focusing on long a and o sounds. Math will include doubles plus one flash cards (4+5, 3+4 etc.) We will begin learning about various land forms in social studies and focusing on the letter d in handwriting.

Monday: Read Christ Light A The Parable of the Rich Man and Poor Lazarus Read Rose and Grandma Make the Sun Shine Tuesday: Matthew 4:10 (Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.) Math Facts Wednesday: Read Christ Light B The Rich Young Man Read Our Family Get-Together Thursday: Hymn 587 Now, Rest Beneath Nights Shadow v. 1 Spelling Test (blade, shade, made, bake, cake, date, late, skate, Bonus: plate, grade) Hymn 587: Now rest beneath nights shadow, the woodland, field, and meadow;

Here are some ways to challenge your child: Math Write word problems that include doubles plus one facts. Reading Identify the sequence (what happened 1st, 2nd, 3rd) of the stories read at home. P.E. Dribble and kick a soccer ball accurately and quickly.

Important Notes

It was great to see so many of you at our Science Fair this last Friday! What talented children you have! If you still have a report card envelope, please send that in this week signed. This Thursday is the 100th Day of School! Please have your child pick an item and bring in 100 of them (pennies, paper clips, etc) either on or before Jan. 31st. We will share our collections on Thursday! Let me know if you would like to come help in the classroom by listening to students read/do flash cards/say sight words! Looking at our weeks, Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-3:00 seem best for us. Thanks! :)
