The centre of the project is the view and the perspective of a transsexual that is facing a certain personal life path; the definitive sex change from genetically man to woman in physical and legal terms.

This theme is been in many ways seen and explored in the past but always in a journalistic and reportage form; where the subject matter it always been exposed in a negative and inexpressive way. The project D V R C T (cutaways of original title Diver City) it developed over the last ten years; from my will and a specific intention. Research this particular spectrum of individuals and therefore have a more insight view of the transgender community around the globe. I have managed to step on my tip toes in this atypical community, living in their apartments, meeting those individuals and coming to analyze their movement and how the Italian society received those and their migratory flux. With D V R C T we want to enter in a daily life of one and more transgender, describing their personality and their personal and analyzing this matter on an ethnographic point of view. The central aspect of the film stayed within Fabiana that is transsexual that lives and work in Rome. The documentary wanted to focus on her personal perspective and follow up the medical and legal aspect of this particular transition. Being a transgender it is automatically prostitute, but there are also exceptions. On Fabiana: Fabiana she will be our lead and our focus but she also our consultant, she is facing a particular interior path facing many obstacles and at the age of forty-four years old she stepping into a definitive choice, to became a woman. With D V R C T we want to focus on an atypical Community that in Italy growth exponentially over the last 20 years, finding in Italy a fertile ground where to stabilize and stay. We refer as community a group of people that can be named for similar characteristics and in the particular we are focusing on the transgender community in the Italian capital city, Rome. As we mentioned earlier being transsexual from the mass media to the ordinary people it is often associate with being a prostitute or live in a certain way. associated being a

This topic will come out by the numerous interviews that are contained in the film and from the direct voices of the subject matter. It is true that over the last twenty years this phenomena it growth substantially in our country and this is underlining how our society shifted in terms of the Italians sexual habits and orientation and how also how this trend it is a reflection of how the relationship between man and woman are changed in the contemporary society. How therefore there is a blatant confusion in the male world and how the role of the woman itself it changed over the last two decades. As many transsexuals they migrate from specific world areas such: South America (Brasil, Colombia, Argentina, Venezuela) and what are the reasons that pushes them to come in Italy to sell themselves for will or for lack of supports and alternatives presents on their natives countries. It is this them fundamental role, or we can also have some exceptions? Those argumentations will be underlined in the documentary in a very light manner without make any statement or give any judgement of all sorts. To testify all of this we will listen to them speaking very freely directly to us, we dont want underlined on suffering aspects or speculate on the existence of them as individuals and sentient beings. But simply focusing on their humanity their beauty and their extraordinarily specifically in their particularity and uniqueness. The result of the message will simply evolve around the subject matter declarations and behaviour. Obviously Fabianas experience that is Italian it is totally different from those that deliberately they come in Italy with just that one objective sell themselves in order to make money. We will refer to Fabiana as our central part and guideline during the film. Fabiana, and she dynamics that are she always had a family that being supportive to her always had a regular job being also aware of the and the episode connected to those many transgender living out of prostitution.

Subsequently in the development of the documentary it is our intention and aim to illustrate Fabianas journey facing the surgery and which problems and matters she is encountering in legal terms where seems like in the Italian legislation are many obstacles that dont make this process and transition so easy as we tough. We will follow Fabiana during her operation before and after and we will follow also the legal aspect of her journey. The Aim of the project it is to give an ethnographic analysis of this particular matter but also to educate wider audiences and get people out there that are facing the same circumstances that Fabianas facing in this particular day of age. On the stylistic side of the film the documentary will develop in a very organic manner shot as a film in order to follow the movements of our subject in a elegant a more viewable way. Avoiding all those stylistic choices where the documentary becomes almost a journalistic statement with a very negative approach to the subject touched. In contrast with Fabianas experiences we have encountered other transgenders such (Aline,Monique and Camilla) that came with the first wave of migration and that they are perfectly aware about being a prostitute. Or i.e: Carla (from Ecuador) that found themselves in a sort of limbo and daily routine unable to create for them self any other opportunity except to be a prostitute, describing their daily life with a Great Spirit and intelligence.
