Professor Andreas Adam


Clinical Director, Clinical Imaging and Medical Physics
Andreas Adam is Professor of Interventional Radiology at Kings College London. He was President of the Royal College of Radiologists, the European Society of Radiology, the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe, and five other medical organisations in the United Kingdom and abroad. His research in interventional radiology has changed clinical practice in this field internationally. Professor Adam has received many honours and awards, including honorary fellowship or membership of sixteen radiological and medical societies around the world. He is a recipient of five Gold Medals and of the Medal of the Russian Society of Medical Sciences.

Jackie Anderson
Director of Therapies
Jackie Anderson is Director of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy with multi-professional leadership responsibilities including cancer. Jackie Anderson is a Physiotherapist with expertise in respiratory management of acute and chronic disease including post-operative and critical care. Over the last four years, she has introduced specialist therapy services for breast, haemato-oncology and neuro-oncology patients. She has also taken part in service evaluation and research in the cancer field and has published work in this field. Jackie has experience of reviewing a respiratory physiotherapy service in Middle East and has recently chaired the Rehab stream of the South East London Cancer Network.

Mr Christian Brown
Consultant Urologist and Robotic / Laparoscopic Surgeon
Mr Christian Brown is a Urological Consultant Surgeon specialising in robotic and laparoscopic surgery including radical prostatectomy and minimally invasive treatment of upper urinary tract cancers and has performed over 500 cases to date. He is dedicated to both teaching and research. He was a lecturer on the University of London MSc and Diploma in Urology courses and is an active clinical researcher in both benign and malignant prostate disease. Previously, he worked in the Clinical Effectiveness Unit at the Royal College of Surgeons and has had original work published in the British Medical Journal. He trained at Kings College Hospital, University College Hospital and The Royal College of Surgeons, in addition to other hospitals across the south east of England.

Mr Declan Cahill
Consultant Surgeon
Mr Declan Cahill is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. His special interests are in urinary infection, PSA, prostate cancer, benign prostatic disorders, laparoscopic and Da Vinci robotic surgery. Mr Cahill undertook a fellowship in Paris at Institute Montsouris where he learned the complex laparoscopic skills needed to perform laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and nephrectomy. He has undertaken specialist training on the da Vinci surgical system to perform robotic-assisted surgery. Mr Cahill also has experience in high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for prostate cancer using the Ablatherm system.

Dr Guy Chung-Faye
Consultant Gastroenterologist & Deputy Director of South East London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre
Dr Guy Chung-Faye has been a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 2002. Dr ChungFaye qualified in 1991, attained his membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1994 and was awarded his PhD in Gene Therapy in 2002. Dr Chung-Faye is on the Specialist Register for Gastroenterology and General (Internal) Medicine. He has a large general Gastroenterology practice with a special interest in Cancer and Inflammatory Bowel diseases and has published in many peer-reviewed journals. Dr Chung-Faye is an accredited screening colonoscopist and the Deputy Director of the South East London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre.

Professor Gary Cook


Head of Cancer Imaging
Professor Gary Cook is the Chair of Clinical PET Imaging in the Division of Imaging Sciences and Biomedical Engineering at Kings College London and is Head of Cancer Imaging and Honorary Consultant Physician Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. Following his medical degree in London, Gary Cook first trained in Radiology and then Nuclear Medicine and PET at Guys and St Thomas Hospitals. After completing his MD thesis, he was appointed as a Consultant at the Royal Marsden Hospital to lead a new PET service.

Dr Giuseppe Culora
Consultant Gynaecological Pathologist & Deputy Clinical Director
Dr Giuseppe Culora is Deputy Clinical Director of Oncology, Haematology & Cellular Pathology; responsible for the management and development of Cellular Pathology. Clinically part of a team of specialist gynaecological pathologists whose remit includes surgical pathology of patients referred from South East London to the Gynaecological Cancer Centre at Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust.

Professor Stephen Devereux


Consultant Haematologist & Professor of Lymphoma Biology
Professor Stephen Devereux is Consultant Haematologist at Kings College Hospital & Professor of Lymphoma Biology at Kings College London. Professor Devereux leads the South London Comprehensive Local Research Network and is Deputy Director of the KHP Bone Marrow Transplant Program. He directs an internationally competitive lymphoma research group and a large clinical trials portfolio. Professor Devereux trained at Hammersmith, Royal Free and University College London Hospitals.

Anne Duffy
Head of Nursing for Cancer & Palliative Care - Ambulatory Care & Local Networks
Anne Duffy is the Lead Nurse for Cancer and Palliative Care based at Kings College Hospital. Anne is an experienced nurse with a BSc in Health Management and an MA in Management. She also has specialist cancer and palliative care qualifications. Anne has specialised in cancer and palliative care since 1997 and since 2004 has held a number of senior roles in different hospitals including Clinical Nurse Specialist for lung cancer, modern matron for solid tumours and Lead Nurse. Anne has rolled out the Liverpool Care Pathway into nursing homes and has had operational and nursing responsibility for a NHS hospice where she led on end of life initiatives and working with patients to improve their experiences.

Dr Polly Edmonds
Consultant in Palliative Medicine, Assistant Medical Director & Cancer Lead
Dr Polly Edmonds has led the development of the Kings College Hospital Palliative Care Team since 1997, which now sees over 1,000 referrals a year, of which 40% have a non-cancer diagnosis. She is also Clinical Lead for Cancer at Kings College Hospital. Dr Edmonds trained in General Medicine, Medical Oncology and Palliative Medicine. Until 2011, Polly led the palliative care teaching in the undergraduate curriculum at the Kings College London School of Medicine and was Deputy Head and OSCE co-ordinator of year 4. Between 2006 and 2010, she was the Training Programme Director for Palliative Medicine for the London/KSS Deanery postgraduate training scheme where she is currently Chair of the Specialty Training Committee. She is also a member of the Royal College Physicians (RCP) specialist Advisory Committee for Palliative Medicine, the Regional Specialty Advisor for South London and a continuing professional development advisor for Palliative Medicine for the Royal College of physicians. Current interests include quality of life in people with chronic haematological malignancies.

Professor Ian Fentiman


Professor of Surgical Oncology, Consultant Breast Surgeon
Professor Ian Fentiman is the Chair in surgical oncology at Kings Health Partners. He has had a distinguished career as a Consultant Breast Surgeon and Clinical Academic based at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust and Kings College London. He is a world opinion leader in breast cancer with a career spanning several decades. His contributions have been pivotal in shaping our thinking in both clinical and basic research into the treatment and risk factors for breast cancer. He directs the Guernsey Project, has published more than 320 peer-reviewed papers and written 7 books.

Angela Francis
Head of Radiotherapy
Mrs Angela Francis has been Head of Radiotherapy Services at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust since January 2011. Prior to this she was Radiotherapy Manager at Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, for 10 years. Angela is a Therapeutic Radiographer qualifying in 1988, and since then has gained a Certificate of Management and PRINCE 2 project management (Practitioner) qualifications to support her management role. Angela is also a member of the NCAT, National Radiotherapy Information Group, supporting the development of radiotherapy services nationally.

Mr Mark George
Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and MDT
Lead Mr Mark George has been a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon to Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust since 2003 and is Lead clinician for colorectal cancer. He is interested in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and is a specialist in the treatment of advanced colorectal cancer, recurrent rectal cancer and is the regional anal cancer surgeon. Mr George qualified from St Marys Hospital in 1991. His higher surgical training was undertaken in the South East London Region. His research was performed at the Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research and was awarded his Master of Surgery in 2002.

Professor Rob George


Consultant Physician, Palliative Care
Rob George is Professor of Palliative Care at the Cicely Saunders Institute, the world leader in research and development of policy care models and evaluation in palliative care and rehabilitation. Professor George is Clinical Lead for Palliative and End of Life Care for London; he leads various projects for the National End of Life Care Programme; he advises Governments, sits on various ethics committees, including the Royal College of Physicians and is on several of their Working Parties. He has an international reputation as a clinical innovator and thinker, but remains a practicing physician. His overarching academic interests are to understand the nature of suffering across different cultures, their response and the complexities that this introduces to care and service delivery. His publications range across medical ethics, law and care modelling.

Dr Cheryl Gillett
Head of Biobanking
Dr Cheryl Gillett is Head of Biobanking and Senior Lecturer at Kings College London and Manager of the Guys & St Thomas Research Biobanks. She is the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) Designated Individual (Research) for both the Kings College London Guys Campus and Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. Cheryl has many years experience in biobanking and breast pathology related research, with more than 90 peer-reviewed publications.

Professor Vicky Goh


Chair of Clinical Cancer Imaging
Professor Vicky Goh is Chair of Clinical Cancer Imaging at Kings College London and Honorary Consultant Radiologist at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. Her research focuses on multiparametric imaging of the tumour microenvironment (CT, MRI and PET/CT), and she is actively involved with many multicentre clinical trials. She is Vice President of the European Society of Oncological Imaging, member of the European Society of Radiology research board, and European Congress of Radiology 2013 & 2014 organising committee. Professor Goh qualified in Medicine from the University of Cambridge.

Mairead Griffin
Head of Nursing & Lead Cancer Nurse
Mairead Griffin is Lead Cancer Nurse and Head of Nursing for Oncology at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust providing direction and leadership to all nurses caring for cancer patients. She has a particular interest in the evolving role of expert nursing care and led the Cancer and Palliative Care Nursing Strategy across the Integrated Cancer Centre. This included the development of Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Consultants in Oncology. A further interest is ensuring robust mechanisms to enhance patient experience. Across Kings Health Partners, Mairead has also contributed to a number of projects including: the Volunteer pilot in the Chemotherapy Days Units at Guys and Kings College Hospital, the survivorship project, models of care for cancer services at Guys, the creation of a Kings Health Partners nursing research fellow post to further develop cancer nursing research.

Professor Irene Higginson


Professor of Palliative Care and Policy and NIHR Senior Investigator
Professor Irene Higginson has dual training in palliative medicine and epidemiology/public health. She has extensive experience in leading national and international multidisciplinary research, teaching, collaboration and care in palliative care. She has over 250 scientific papers published in peer review journals, has published 14 books on palliative and end of life care and is an adviser to many governments in research and policy in palliative care. Professor Higginson has developed two tools - the Support Team Assessment Schedule (STAS) and the Palliative Care Outcome Scale (POS) used widely in the UK and many other countries. Professor Higginson was awarded an OBE for services to medicine in the Queens Birthday Honours list of 2008. In 2002 she was appointed Scientific Director of Cicely Saunders International and is leading the development of the Cicely Saunders Institute.

Professor John Karani


Clinical Director of Imaging & Associate Medical Director
Professor John Karani is Clinical Director of Imaging at Kings College Hospital and a Professor of Imaging Sciences in the Division of Imaging Sciences in Kings College London. His specialist interest is in adult and paediatric diagnostic and interventional hepatobiliary radiology. He is an international authority in this specialty having published over 200 papers and abstracts principally in the field of interventional oncology in the management of liver tumours and in the radiology of liver transplantation. He is currently the lead advisor to the Interventional Radiology Project Group of the Clinical Strategies Unit of the NHS Medical Directorate defining the UK strategy for delivery of interventional radiology including interventional oncology.

Dr Majid Kazmi
Lead Cancer Clinician & Medical Director (Commercial Services)
Dr Majid Kazmi is the Clinical Director of Oncology/Haematology Directorate in Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. He has a significant research interests including an increasing trials portfolio. Dr Kazmi has led many projects including the implementation of an electronic Cancer Information Solution which is being rolled out across the South East London cancer network for chemotherapy prescribing. He is a key UK opinion Leader in Myeloma and is also the Chief Investigator for the UK on several Myeloma studies. Dr Kazmi is also the lead transplanter in the UK for auto-immune disorders and sits on the European Working Group. Dr Kazmi has been a consultant in Haemato-oncology since 2001.

Mr Ashutosh Kothari
Consultant Breat Surgeon and Breast MDT
Lead Mr Ashutosh Kothari is the Clinical lead for Breast Surgery and Breast MDT lead for Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust as well as the Lead Breast Cancer Clinician for the University Hospital Lewisham. After completing his Masters in General Surgery from the Mumbai University, Mr Kothari specialised in surgical oncology at the prestigious Tata Memorial Cancer Centre, in Mumbai. He joined Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust in 1999 to pursue his interest in Breast Surgery. He is one of pioneers in the field of Breast Duct Micro-Endoscopy as a tool for early diagnosis of breast cancer. Mr Kothari is especially interested in onco-plastic and reconstructive breast surgery as well as ambulatory care.

Dr Ali Kubba
Lead Consultant Colposcopy & Cervical Screening
Dr Ali Kubba is currently Lead Consultant Gynecologist in the Colposcopy unit and the Community Reproductive healthcare Unit at Guys and St Thomas. He is Honorary Senior Lecturer at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Kings College London. He is also Honorary Professor at Basra School of Medicine in Iraq. Dr Kubba is a member of the RCOG Global Health Board, an Executive member of the International Forum of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and the Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health. With over 25 years of experience in the field of reproductive health, Dr Kubbas main interests are cervical screening, colposcopy, HPV, contraceptive technology, menopause, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and medical gynaecology. Until 2009, Dr Kubba was an executive committee member in the London NHS Cervical Screening Programme Quality Assurance Centre and was lead and mentor in the QA Colposcopy peer review visits up to 2010. He is currently Chairman of the South London Colposcopy Network.

Dr Michael Michell
Consultant Radiologist and Director of the South East London Breast Screening Programme and Kings National Breast Screening Training Centre
Dr Michael Michell has been Consultant Radiologist at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 1986, and has been the Director of the South East London Breast Screening Programme and National Breast Screening Training Centre since 1998. He is a national expert in all aspects of screening and diagnosis of breast disease and leads a team of seven Consultant Radiologists who are responsible for screening and further assessment for over 50,000 women per annum. He has successfully incorporated new technology such as image guided vacuum biopsy techniques and digital breast tomosynthesis into routine practice. Educational courses for both technicians and specialist clinical breast radiologists are run at Kings to national quality assurance standards. Dr Michell has served on the Department of Health Advisory Committee on Breast Cancer Screening, as Lead Radiologist for the London Breast Screening Quality Assurance Reference Centre, the Higher Risk Screening Working Group, and currently serves on the Department of Health Improving Outcomes a Strategy for Cancer Committee. He continues to promote and develop Breast Radiology through research and education.

Dr George Mikhaeel
Head of Clinical Oncology & Radiotherapy
Dr George Mikhaeel has been a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Guys and St Thomas since 2001. He is the Lead Clinical Oncologist specialising in haematological malignancies in the South East London Cancer Network (SELCN), with special interest in developing conformal 3-D radiotherapy planning for lymphomas. Dr Mikhaeel sits on National Cancer Research Institute Lymphoma working parties for Hodgkins & Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. George is a member of the European and American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.

Professor Henrik Mller


Director of Cancer Epidemiology and Population Health
Henrik Mller is Professor of Cancer Epidemiology in Kings College London School of Medicine and Director of Cancer Epidemiology and Population Health in Kings Health Partners Integrated Cancer Centre. Professor Mller has extensive experience with cancer registration and research use of cancer registration data. He was with the Danish Cancer Registry for six years and he was the Director of the Thames Cancer Registry for twelve years. He served as a member and as the Chair of the European Network of Cancer Registries 2002-2007. He was also the Chair of the Analysis Subgroup of the Executive of the UK Association of Cancer Registries 20002009. Professor Mller has published more than 300 research articles in cancer epidemiology and health services research.

Professor Ghulam Mufti


Professor and Head of Haematological Medicine
Professor Ghulam Mufti has extensive clinical and research expertise in myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), leukaemias, and lymphomas. Professor Mufti heads the research groups at Kings working on molecular genetics of MDS, genomic instability, chimerism, cell cycle and immunotherapy of myeloid malignancies, in particular MDS. The research achievements have recently been recognised by the department receiving recognition as a Centre of Excellence by the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research Fund. He has published numerous papers and chapters in scientific journals and textbooks on leukaemias. He devised the prognostic score (Bournemouth score for MDS) that initiated the search for other scores and contributed to the IPSS scoring system. He was a member of the working group that produced national and international guidelines on the treatment and prognosis of MDS. He is a member of the European Bone Marrow Transplantation Group and a founding member of the Board of the International Myelodysplastic Foundation of which his Department at Kings College Hospital is a recognised Centre of Excellence.

Angus Norton
General Manager - Oncology & Haematology
Angus Norton is the General Manager for Oncology, Haematology and Cellular Pathology at Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Hospital. He has over 10 year operational management experience in the NHS. Prior to this, Angus worked as a senior change leader at Kings College Hospital for 3 years (2004-2008) and successfully led a number of change programmes, including improvements in length of stay and outpatient efficiency. Angus started in the NHS in September 1998 on the 2 year NHS fast track NHS Management Graduate Scheme.

Professor Michael ODoherty


Director of the Clinical PET Centre
Professor Michael ODoherty is Chair in PET at Kings College London and Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. His current interest is in acquisition and analysis of PET/CT data and its application to oncology; neurology; cardiology, inflammation and infection. Professor ODoherty is particularly interested in measurement of disease response to intervention. A key interest has been to develop imaging to assess both tumour stage and response to chemotherapy in lymphoma and to ensure that functional imaging has been incorporated into multicentre trials. Professor ODoherty has published extensively and lectured internationally.

Professor Peter Parker


Research Director of Kings Health Partners Integrated Cancer Centre
Professor Parker trained as an undergraduate in Biochemistry (BA) at Oxford and then as a postgraduate under Professor Sir Philip Randle in Clinical Biochemistry (D.Phil) at Oxford. He subsequently won a MRC PostDoctoral Fellowship to work with Professor Sir Philip Cohen in Dundee and following this started working in the area of oncology as an ICRF (now CRUK) Fellow with Professor Mike Waterfield in London. He has run an independent cancer research group since 1986 publishing over 300 primary research articles and reviews in the area of cancer and signal transduction. Peter Parker has been recognised for his research contributions having been elected to the European Molecular Biology Organisation in 1995, to the Academy of Medical Sciences in 2000, he was awarded the Morton Prize in 2004 and elected to the Royal Society in 2006 and the EACS in 2011. Peter Parker has ongoing research activities in oncology with expertise in signal transduction, molecular cell biology, biomarker research and drug discovery. Peter Parker has co-founded two biotechnology companies and retains active links to biotech and pharma in the pursuit of delivering new interventions in the clinic.

Professor Arnie Purushotham


Director of Kings Health Partners Integrated Cancer Centre Professor of Breast Cancer, Consultant Surgeon
Professor Arnie Purushotham is Director of Kings Health Partners Integrated Cancer Centre. He is also Professor of Breast Cancer at Kings College London, Consultant Surgeon at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, the Clinical Academic Lead for Cancer at Kings Health Partners and the Interim Joint Medical Director for the London Cancer Alliance, Integrated Cancer System. His principal research interests are in the pathophysiology of lymphoedema, molecular profiling of tumours, patterns of metastatic spread, mammary cancer stem cell biology, sentinel lymph node biopsy, novel intraoperative imaging techniques in breast cancer, cancer outcomes, cancer & evolutionary biology and global cancer policy.

Professor Amanda J Ramirez


Director of Informed Choice about Cancer Screening & Promoting Early Cancer Presentation Group
Professor Amanda J Ramirez was appointed as the Professor of Liaison Psychiatry within Kings College London in 1997. She leads a research programme which examines psychological and social aspects of cancer. Her research focuses on examining ways of promoting early symptomatic presentation of cancer. Amanda Ramirez qualified as a doctor in 1982. She went on to train as a psychiatrist and over the past 26 years has specialised in Liaison Psychiatry. As part of her NHS commitment, she is a National Clinical Lead for Cancer Patient Experience. In particular she leads on the national work to improve the delivery of patient information. She also leads the development of information about the NHS Cancer Screening Programmes.

Dr Anna Rigg
Consultant Medical Oncologist
Dr Anna Rigg was appointed as Consultant in Medical Oncology at Guys and Thomas NHS Foundation Trust in 2005. She is the lead for systemic therapies for breast cancer at Guys and St Thomas and for the South East London Cancer Network and is responsible for the development of regional guidelines for the treatment of breast cancer. Dr Rigg provides care for both outpatients and inpatients with early and advanced breast cancer. She also runs an outpatient and chemotherapy service at Kings College Hospital. Dr Rigg is the clinical lead for the Medical Oncology department. She is involved with the development of the Cancer Treatment Centre at Guys and has previously chaired the Directorate Clinical Governance Committee. Dr Rigg represents South East London Cancer Network for the pan-London commissioning of new treatments for breast cancer.

Mr Tom Routledge
Clinical Lead for Lung Cancer, Consultant Thoracic Surgeon
Mr Tom Routledge is Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust and Clinical Lead for Lung Cancer services. He specialises in minimally invasive surgery for Lung Cancer and is a leader in the UK in the field of major Thoracoscopic resections and complex major resections. He has a particular record in training junior surgeons in minimally invasive surgery (VATS lobectomy). Dr Debashis Sarker
Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Medical Oncology
Dr Debashis Sarker has been Clinical Senior Lecturer in Medical Oncology at Kings College London since 2010 having completed specialist training in medical oncology in 2009. With Dr James Spicer, Dr Sarker runs the Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit based at Guys Hospital. His main research focus is in the development of novel therapies for cancer. He also has a particular interest in the development of signal transduction inhibitors, and the application of novel predictive and pharmacodynamic biomarkers, especially using molecular imaging. He is also actively involved in the management of hepato-pancreatic-biliary malignancies at Guys and Kings College Hospital Liver Unit, and has a specific interest in the development of new therapies and molecular imaging for these tumours. Dr Sarker graduated in Medicine from the University of Liverpool in 1997, and subsequently trained in internal medicine and medical oncology. In 2003 he was appointed to a Cancer Research UK Clinical Research Fellowship in the Drug Development Unit of The Royal Marsden Hospital, and in Professor Paul Workmans Signal Transduction and Molecular Pharmacology lab group at The Institute of Cancer Research, which led to the award of a PhD.

Dr James Spicer
Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Medical Oncology
Dr James Spicer is Senior Lecturer at Kings College London, and Consultant in Medical Oncology at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Spicer established and now runs the Cancer Early Phase Trials programme at Guys & St Thomas, including phase 1 trials in a wide range of solid tumours. His clinical and research interests also include the care of patients with lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies, and clinical trials in these diseases. He is Clinical Lead for oncology trial activities in the hospital. His pre-clinical drug development interests include novel immunotherapies and pharmacogenetics. He gained his first degree from the University of Oxford, and qualified in Medicine at the University of London. He went on to postgraduate training at a number of London teaching hospitals and the Royal Marsden, and obtained a PhD in cancer biology from the Institute of Cancer Research in London.

Professor Richard Sullivan


Professor and Director, Institute of Cancer Policy
Professor Richard Sullivan is the Director of the Institute of Cancer Policy Kings College London and the Head of External Affairs of the Kings Health Partners Integrated Cancer Centre. He is also Visiting Professor Faculty of Medicine, Universidad Catolica, Chile and Senior Fellow International Prevention Research Institute, Lyon. The Institute of Cancer Policy is devoted to global cancer care and research and has established a number of major policy projects including clinical centres, academic cancer surgery and ageism in cancer. Prior to this he was the Clinical Director, Cancer Research UK between 1998 and 2007.

Ann Wood
Lead Cancer Manager and Divisional Manager - Ambulatory Care & Local Networks
Ann Wood is the Divisional Manager for Ambulatory Care and Local Networks and Lead Cancer Manager for the Kings College Hospital. Ann joined Kings College Hospital as Head of Nursing for Sexual Health and HIV in 1990. She then held a number of general management roles at Kings, managing services such as Cancer, Neurosciences and Cardiac. Ann Wood is a trained nurse from Belfast before coming to London to undertake further training in Oncology Nursing. She has undertaken a number of clinical management roles in a number of different specialties including ITU and HIV/AIDS.

Dr Fran Woodard

Dr Fran Woodard is Director Cancer Programmes, Transformation and Organisational Development, Kings Health Partners. She is an expert in large-scale multi-organisational transformation incorporating the enhancement of quality clinical service delivery, integrating research and clinical practice, capital and information technology solutions, income diversification strategies and the delivery of patient-centred care. Fran is an experienced healthcare senior director with a clinical background. She has a doctorate in Leading Inter-organisational Change from the Middlesex University in 2007 and an MBA from the Open University in 2001.
