CHAPTER III METHOD AND PROCEDURE FOR DATA GATHERING This chapter discusses the method of the research

used, and the locale of the study and the data gathering technique and instrument. Method of Research Used The Method of research that was used in the study was to descriptive method. According to Cacanindin (2010),

descriptive studies purpose is mainly to observe, describe the document aspects of the investigation think, behaves, or develops in a particular manner, rather than what

his/her status, progress, actions, or thought are. The recording, tabulations descriptive analyzing of the method and data involves the of destruction statistical of the

prevailing conditions and the present nature of a certain group (Tan 2006). It is used to obtain information

concerning the current status of the phenomena to describe what exist with respect to variables or conditions in a situation (Key, 2009)

Data Gathering Technique The questionnaire was the main tool used by this study in data gathering. A questionnaire is a research instrument consisting of a series of items and other prompts for the purpose of gathering the information nurse from used the the is client.

predominantly on closed questions which produce data that agenda is entirely predetermined by the evaluator and

provides little flexibility for the respondents to qualify their answers (Cacanindin,2010) Administration on Instrument Upon approval of Mrs. Briza Gonzales Chief Nurse of Palayan City Health Office, the student nurse then asked permission to the Barangay Captain. The researcher together with the group personally visited the designated area where they are selected their target participants and gathered data through questionnaire and interview. Locale of the Study The study was conducted last December 10, 2012 to

December 13, 2012 and January 07, 2013 to January 10, 2013 or converted to 8 days. The respondents that were selected

approximately 418.71 hectares with geographical landmarks consisting of flat lands which are very appropriate for onions, vegetables and calamansi or orchard. It has also mineral bentonite and white gray. But on how or where the name Singalat originated is not clearly stated by the people living in said barangay. They have also tried to replace the name of their barangay under

regimen of Mayor Rico Fajardo by ordinance called Talsay or umbrella tree thay is how useful for the people because it give seed called Pili or Cashew. Talisay is also known to be the Philippine Almond. But as time goes by, now we can say that Singalat is one of the barangay in Palayan City because of the

following: First the biggest production of onions, vegetable and

calamansi.

It is rich in fresh water to wet fishes like tilapia, Catfish, Mudfish, Shrimp, and other river fishes. In Singalat , we also find the provincial Capitol of Nueva Ecija and the City Hall of Palayan City, other than we can also find the station of DWNE, Sports Center.

Sampling Procedure The student nurse utilized purposive sampling where a group of people believed to be typical or average or a group of people specially picked for some unique purpose the researcher never knows if the sample is representative of the population, and this method is largely limited to exploratory research (Trochin, 2006) Statistical Treatment of Data 1.
