ABSTRACT
The designer should make the machine as reliable as reasonably possible to minimize the maintenance required and allow for long intervals between routine maintenance task. It is also important to design the machine and its control system so that maintenance can be carried out safely. For example hold to run controls can be installed that allow a machine to be run a reduced speed, or w3orkbench or removable tool holder can be used so that sharp blades can be replaced on a workbench instead of in an difficult position inside a machine . in addition operator and maintenance technicians must be discourages from bypassing safety equipment. Safety components are often designed to interrupt processes in the event of a fault and have an impact on machine availability. In order to minimize this effect and the temptation to interfere with the safety circuits high reliability safety components should be specified so as to keep number of nuisance faults at a minimum. Designing safety into a new machine is important ,but it has to be remembered that the vast majority of machine do not remain unaltered , with unchanged operating procedures, for their entire lifetime.
WORKING PRICIPLE
A blade is that portion of a tool, weapon, or machine with an edge that is designed to cut and/or puncture, stab, slash, chop, slice, thrust, or scrape surfaces or materials. A blade may be made from a flaking stone, such as flint, metal (usually steel), ceramic, or other material. A power hacksaw (or electric hacksaw) is a type of hacksaw that is powered either by its own electric motor or connected to a stationary engine. Most power hacksaws are powered by Electric Motor but some portable models do exist. Band sawing produces uniform cutting action as a result of an evenly distributed tooth load. Band saws are used for woodworking, metalworking, or for cutting a variety of other materials, and are particularly useful for cutting irregular or curved shapes, but can also be used to produce straight cuts A passive infrared sensor (IR sensor) is an electronic sensor that measures infrared (IR) light radiating from objects in its field of view. They are most often used in PIR-based motion detectors. All objects emit heat energy in the form of infrared radiation (infrared light). Usually infrared light is invisible to the human eye, but it can be detected by electronic devices designed for such a purpose. When cutting tool is in motion , this cutting tool is powered by Electric Motor, IR sensor allows the motor to run when there is no human body interception within the working (cutting)region. If sensor detects human body within the cutting zone , then it switch off the cutting machine by
means of Controller device connected with relay switch. Thus the accident is prevented by using IR sensors.
LIMITATIONS
Hard and thick materials can not be cut. Early stage prevention and sudden .stop of machine is not possible Sensor range is minimum. .
