Job Summary The Senior Accountant- P&L and Balance Sheets will report directly to the Senior Manager CFRST, Financial Reporting and Analysis and be an integral member of the Lodging Finance team. This highly motivated individual will assist in performing the reporting & analysis functions for one or more Limited Service brand(s), balance sheet and cash flow financial reporting, and have a wide range of responsibilities supporting several key systems, reporting & accounting functions and analytical activities. This person will be involved in special projects and must be able to manage multiple tasks at a time. Expected Contributions I. P&L Reporting * Assist in the periodic and quarterly reporting and analysis functions for one or more Limited Service brand(s). This includes reviewing the managed and franchise operating results for accuracy; ensuring that activity is recorded in accordance with GAAP; analyzing the profit & loss statements, profit bridges and statistics; preparing external sales, and other financial and statistical supporting schedules. * Support the development of a highlights package including managed and franchise financial, statistical and other analytical information as required by Senior Management. Act as the key contact in addressing inquiries and prepare ad hoc reporting as needed. * Analyze statistical data received from the properties. Determine if all data is being reported consistently. Evaluate and report on trends and resolve issues. * Maintain a list of risks and opportunities as they relate to the designated brand(s). The list will include properties that are deemed risks on the impairment and guarantee schedules as well as on AMAC and CGC documents. II. Balance Sheet & Cashflow Reporting * Develop and prepare balance sheet reports for the designated brand(s) including performing analytical tests, identifying key trends and highlighting critical variances and exposures. * Act as a liaison with Lodging departments in overseeing the brand(s) balance sheets. Ensure that the balance sheets are accurate and properly reflect accounts in appropriate captions. This includes working closely with process owners to understand and document current processes, and develop process improvements related to financial reporting. * Seek process improvement to support financial reporting and analytical activities relating to the brand(s) balance sheets. This includes leveraging the general ledger system to develop reports and queries that accurately reflect the balance sheet, as well as, supporting schedules summarizing key balances and activity. * Complete cash flow reports for the assigned brand(s) and develop accurate cash flow forecasts. Identify key risks and opportunities and develop appropriate reporting for Senior Management. * Ensure that balance sheet accounts are reconciled in accordance with MIP-66. III. LRP, Business Plan and Audit Process

* Assist in the preparation of the Long Range Plan for one or more designated brand(s). This includes preparation of managed and franchise P&L, statistics, cash flow reporting requirements and various other supporting schedules. * Assist in the preparation of the annual business plan for the assigned brand(s). This includes preparation of franchise and consolidated P&L, statistics, cash flow reporting requirements and various other supporting schedules. * Prepare schedules required for the external audit related to the designated brand(s). IV. Other Additional Responsibilities * Participate in department efforts to leverage EPM and the Global Consolidations tool and the new reporting tools resulting from the ledger replacement project (SmartView, Hyperion Financial reports) to meet Marriott's external reporting requirement. Implement new governance and the established policies for GC. * Complete other reporting, accounting and analytical projects as assigned by Senior Management. Experience * 2 - 4 years progressive job experience in accounting. * Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with particular emphasis on use of macros and pivot tables. * Experience with PeopleSoft general ledger and/or Hyperion ( ). Education or Certification * BS Degree in Accounting * CPA preferred.
