EDUCATIONAL AIMS OF THE PROGRAMME: The overall educational aim of the MClinDent in Endodontology Programme is to help develop the cognitive, psychomotor and interpersonal skills required to enable a graduate to undertake the independent practise of endodontics at a specialist level. PROGRAMME OUTCOMES: The programme provides opportunities for students to develop and demonstrate knowledge and understanding, qualities, skills and other attributes in the following areas: A: Knowledge and understanding Knowledge and understanding of:
1. Pulpal and periradicular injury / disease 2. Critical analysis, assimilation and application and organisation of literature 3. Endodontic treatment 4. Research methods

Teaching/learning methods and strategies:


1. Structured seminar programme 2. Tutorial series to integrate academic and clinical elements 3. Self-directed seminars 4. Monthly one-to-one tutorial to assess progress of learning 5. Essay assignments 6. Critical analysis of laboratory and clinical work 7. Supervised research project leading to dissertation
