1. What is the Frequency and demographic profile of Percentage the respondents in terms of: a. Age

18-20=16% 21-25=32% 26-30=28% 30 above=24%

Majority of the population comprised of patients who are predominantly adults with ages ranging from eighteen (18) to sixtyfive (65) years old. Most of the respondents (32%) were within the range of 21-25 years old.

Since there was limited number of subjects among the nursing students and patients, the study recommends that there would be higher number of respondents in future studies.

Most of the patients in Ospital Ng Palawan are mostly females.

The researchers recommend the participation of more respondents so as to lessen the bias of the results since caring performance evaluation has a tendency to be subjective.

This study reveals that among the (25) respondents, majority (52%) are married; and only (48%) are singles.

The study is recommended other marital status such as widowed and separated. It might give additional knowledge on how they are satisfied being handled by student nurses. Or how they would evaluate the student nurses in giving care.

Excellent=84% Highly Satisfactory=16% Satisfactory=0% Fair=0% Poor=0%

84% or 21 respondents qualified their perceived level of satisfaction in nurses as a caring person as Excellent, the rest (16%) has Highly Satisfactory as responses. Noticeably, none of the respondents rated Satisfactory, Fair, or Poor.

Nursing students are able to be exposed to different clinical area, they are able to render care to their patients as they put into practice what they have learned in their respective schools. Patients, on the other hand, are able to evaluate the nursing students as well as the care they receive.

b. Nurses as a Competent Health Care Provider

Excellent=44% Highly Satisfactory=36% Satisfactory=20% Fair=16% Poor=0%

Eleven respondents qualified their perceived level of satisfaction in nurses as a competent health care provider as Excellent, while nine respondents (36%) have Highly Satisfactory as responses. One-fifth of the respondents rendered Satisfactory ratings, while the rest (16%) were rated Fair.

The finding was good. The study recommends that student nurses should continue being a competent health care provider by means of practicing and showing their skills that they have during their exposure in clinical area.

c. Nurses as a Health Information Provider

Almost half (48%) of the respondents qualified their perceived level of satisfaction in nurses as a health information provider as Highly Satisfactory. This study revealed a dissimilar trend of responses as compared to the levels of satisfaction of patients to nurses as a caring person and as a competent health information provider. There is also a single respondent (4%) that responded Poor as his satisfaction level.

The study recommended that student nurses should not only focus in giving care and being a competent health care provider. They should also give importance as a health information provider. Student Nurses should give health teachings regarding on the case of the patient that theyre handling.

These findings demonstrate that no important relationships among variables may be concluded from this study. It is possible that a larger sample size may influence the correlation of the personal profile with the other variables.

Since the results of the study showed that no relationship between the Bedside Nursing care and Patient Satisfaction exists, then it is recommended that the nursing students try to excel in their Bedside Care Performance and at the same time, provide a better care for their patients. They should do their best in both variables since these two are important factors of being a great nurse.
