Description A business strategy model and situation analysis tool that describes how to perform a structured analysis on the company, the customer, and the competitor. Often called the 4 Ps of marketing, it is a Marketing Mix model used to collect and define marketing options in terms of product, place, price and promotion. The model can also be used when planning a new service or product or evaluating an existing offer. Describes a systematic questioning technique used to identify the root causes of problems. It aids in the definition and understanding of an organization's processes. The unique identification of a deliverable in the Hitachi Consulting Methodology. A deliverable name (e.g., BPL.110 Information and Data Request) consists of a deliverable prefix (BPL.110) and deliverable title (Information and Data Request). The deliverable prefix that is with associated to all Hitachi Consulting Methodology deliverables (i.e. PM, STR, BPO, TST, etc.). This prefix is determined by a deliverable's association to the subworkstream or project management. Performance Tests include: Load Testing, Reliability Testing, Stress Testing, and Scalability Testing. A framework of macro-environmental factors used in the environmental scanning component of strategic management. This analysis consists of the following: Political & Regulatory Environment, Economic Environment, Social/Cultural Environment, and Technical Environment. Also known as a STEP analysis. The first level in Hitachi Consulting's HFusion Methodology hierarchy (Phase > Process Group > Process > Activity). It is not a prescriptive consulting project management methodology. Hitachi Consulting's Project Management Discipline is a licensed derivative of the PMBOK, which has been modified to speak specifically to managing a consulting project implementation. This deliverable helps determine the competitive intensity and overall industry profitability. The premier accounts for the firm within our designated industries. The Project Management Discipline in Hitachi Consulting's Methodology outlines a structured approach to leading a project, from sales through delivery. It demonstrates connections between internal Hitachi Consulting processes (e.g., ORB, QA Review, etc.) and project management fundamentals. Components are aligned to key disciplines defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is a licensed derivative of their Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). Deliverables primarily associated to the PM Discipline are labeled with a 'PM' prefix.

Documented "tips and tricks" that support the effective execution of the process in the methodology. It is an aggregated set of tips based upon proven best practices from Hitachi Consulting practitioners in the field to help future delivery teams avoid common pitfalls or challenges as they pertain to specific project processes. System Test verifies that the system meets both functional and technical detailed requirements. The Technical Architecture Sub-Workstream includes application and infrastructure components. It involves the design, procurement, implementation and management of the overall IT environment needed to support the business and solution. Deliverables associated with this sub-workstream are labeled with a 'TCA' prefix. The Technical Design & Development Sub-Workstream involves documenting and developing the solution so it meets the functional design and business requirements, including those components related to reports, interfaces, extensions, forms and wireframes/screens. Deliverables associated with this sub-workstream are labeled with a 'TDD' prefix. The Technology Workstream includes the technical components of a solution from the documentation of technical requirements through the development of those requirements in a system, software, etc. in the methodology. Templates in the methodology contain the standard document structure for a deliverable. They contain instructions on how to complete the document, but do not contain any data. An assessment to determine level of capability and/or gaps; often pertains to system testing (e.g., establishing testing environments, test strategy, audience, building scripts, running tests, etc.) Deliverables associated with this sub-workstream are labeled with a 'TST' prefix.
